The 2012 Republican Nomination: Now a Close Three-Way Race (Cain in 1st, Milt, Newt tied for 2nd)
CBS News ^ | November 11, 2011

􀂃 In the Republican race for the presidential nomination, Newt Gingrich’s support continues to slowly grow, and he is now tied with Mitt Romney for second place, while Herman Cain just edges both of them out for the top spot. Both Cain and Romney have lost support since late October.

􀂃 61% of Republican primary voters say the sexual harassment accusations against Cain won’t make any difference in their vote, but 30% say the charges make them less likely to back him, and that rises to 38% among women. Cain has lost support among women since last month – from 28% in October to 15% now. He has lost ground with conservatives and Tea Party supporters as well.

􀂃 But the race could still change; seven in 10 Republican primary voters say it is still too early to say for sure which candidate they will support. The field of Republican candidates now has three candidates within striking distance of each other at the top of the list: with 18%, Herman Cain is in the top spot, followed by Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich with 15% each. Support for both Cain and Romney has declined since late last month, and....

Maybe Larry Sinclair has some free time. They might just listen to him if he was accusing a real black man who also happens to be a conservative.

So now with Romney stagnate, Perry imploded, the GOP Establishment has decided to switch to Plan C. Newt Gingrich.

Watch for a whole lot of fluff from Fox News and the GOP bot media about Newt for the next 60 days.

One ties him, the other one beats him. Romney’s getting his hair mussed good.
At least nobody has strapped him to the roof of a car!

Oh man, can you imagine?

The reaction would be some different, you can bet on it.

I'm quite happy with the GOP field as it is -- except for Robomney. He is the only one that I find completely unacceptable. Heck, I'd even vote for Crazy Uncle Ron in the general if it came down to it.

It will be a happy day when Robomney drops out.

Well, as long as MILT is tied for second place with Newt, I feel ok. I just didn’t want that Rino MITT anywhere near the nomination.

seven in 10 Republican primary voters say it is still too early to say for sure which candidate they will support.

This is huge. It's why Cain has more up-side than the others. The others are known names. Cain is fresh meat. Cain has a chance to make a first impression -- good or bad.

If We The People decide Cain is our guy, then we need to get out there and knock on doors to introduce Cain to these 70% of Republican primary voters, so that when they see the name Herman Cain on their ballot, they know who he is and what he stands for.

Most people vote by name recognition, not by politics. That's why yard signs and bumper stickers are important advertising.

Yeah, let’s not forget that Romney strapped his dog (in a crate) to the roof of the car for an 8-hour trip on their family vacation.

I won’t vote for anyone who doesn’t treat animals well.

Hope there's time to get the truth out. Voice analysis proves Herman Cain is innocent.

You are completely pulling that out of your backside. I could just as easily say the media wants Cain to be the nominee because they know they would own him in the general election.
