Curtains For Cain
American Thinker ^ | November 12, 2011 | Tom Thurlow

The fatal blow to the campaign has been made. Whether he knows it or not, Herman Cain's campaign is over. I would be overjoyed to be wrong, but the numbers and believability of sexual harassment claims against him have amounted to the critical mass of complaints that end the Cain campaign. It is only a matter of time before everyone realizes it.

AT is off my reading list now since they’re going to be so lack-of-analytical and Romneybotish.

“My problem with Cain is that his record hasn’t been vetted.” And, may I add, by hiring the bigtime lawyer/intimidator to make sure he will not be vetted.

He would probably be no more sexual predator that a great number of us here, that’s not the point.

The point is, just like Watergate and any similar situation, its the inarticulate responses and coverup that makes it worse and that eventually blows up.

Or, in Cain's case, the unreasonable expectations based on incomplete understanding of the situation that leads one to believe there was an "inarticulate response" and "coverup."

He did well on the Philadelphia Burger Kings, but he did not take Godfathers to the top.

What is Godfathers current Market share?

How is Texas performing?

I don’t think he made Philly the best performing Burger King district, but he turned them around by focusing on customer service.

BTW, I could murder a whopper with cheese.
IMHO BK makes the best fastfood burger.

On the other hand, I think the King is really creepy.

Pillsbury bought Godfathers for 300 mil.
By time Herman was done with it , Pillsbury sold it to Cain for 30 mil

I would like to see an honest assessment of his performance as CEO of Godfathers.

Sorry, that blew right by me. Let me try to explain my points better.

The “inarticulate responses” refers to the Keystone Cops act where Cain said one thing, Block says something different and they both have to walk their statements back, not just once.

Cain sounds very good theoritically, good enough to get lots of attention. Most of the time he delivers a very welcoming conservative message and is primarily why he caught so much attention.

My biggest concern is that the “political inexperience” shown in his campaign, may carry over to his administration and we’ll be seeing more Keystone Cops, regardless of his great intentions. Running a medicore sizes company and running the USA are likely to be significantly different, i.e dealing with Congress (being a CEO is more akin to “do as I say”).

This kind of speculation at this point doesn't merely sound wrong, its sounds nuts! Ever poll I look at sees Cain GAINING, of not maintaining his momentum. I have yet to see a poll that would hint that his harassment problems have hurt him.

And I say that as a non-bot, in fact, I lean towards Newt now because I do believe that in the general, these accusations would bury Cain eventually. But that said, to see our own side come out with this kind of drivel is, well, it just tells me that those we consider pundits can be as flawed as the any random Freeper poster.

The value slide of GFP during Pillsbury ownership could be due to their monilithic management style, to which Cain knew could work better under different management style.

Pillsbury buying for 300 and selling for 30 could also be reminicent of something I saw take palce in the gold fields.

A giant gold miner in Nevada had a couple of their geologists survey and assay a nearby property. The Geologists reported back that “no paying amounts found” and the giant miner dropped it. Short time later both Geologists partnered with another smaller mining company to open a mine on the very same property, which is still producing much better than they had advised the giant.

manic - You were doing fine through “donation.” I often make it a point here of checking out the profiles of other freepers just to gauge troll potential.

As for me, I am gratified the situation has evidently turned in Herman’s favor. The AT article exudes suspicious false modesty. It is not inconceivable that Herman has a problem somewhere, and the machine (which seems tied to Axelrod or someone associated with him) may attack again.

But I now believe that it is unlikely that our man has been fatally wounded by this and I’m supporting him barring some vastly more plausible, provable revelation.

"While diplomacy is a critical tool in solving the complex security issues we face, it must never compromise military might. Because we are such a free and prosperous people, we are the envy of the world. Many regimes seek to destroy us because they are threatened by our ideals, and they resent our prosperity.

We must acknowledge the real and present danger that terrorist nations and organizations pose to our country's future. Terrorists only have one objective, namely, to kill all of us. "

You are a Perry supporter. Why are you writing as if you are not?

My objective is to keep Romney from getting the nomination.

I like Perry among others. He is pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment and has done some good things in Texas, such as tort reform.

I have also been able to name off the things he's done that I don't like. However, I see the good outweighing the bad and I see you and your tiny-hyena pack twisting and distorting the truth. Your Groupthink Leader even uses laughable publications such as Rolling Stone to support her smears.

Do not think you can speak for me.

You're a camp-follower - one of those who engages in irrational worshippy behavior. You can't understand objective reviews of the field.

I do not worship Cain as you do. No candidate is perfect, and that most certainly includes the object of your worship, Cain.

You groupthink worshippy types hate it when you see people like us who don't fall for your relentless hyperbole.

I've watched the media lie and distort for years. If they can't sway me, you tiny hyenas certainly can't.

It's called thinking for oneself. Learn how to do it.

I call BS right there. The only purpose of this article, AND for posting this article in the first place, is to perpetuate damage to Herman Cain.

But the other thing is that I think she was afraid that she was developing a cult of personality and that the race would become all about her and not about her ideas and principles. I think the behavior of the Cain fanatics shows the dangers of this: they are so devoted to him personally that they don’t care about anything else and they’re irrational and absolutely vicious in their attacks on anyone who raises any questions about him. Palin, because she had been traveling around the country trying to promote her ideas and vision, but without the support of a political party or campaign, attracted a lot of people to herself personally.

I so agree with everything you said. I like Sarah Palin and enjoyed both of her books. I read her columns that she puts on Facebook (it's been a while since I've seen one) and she makes a lot of good, common sense.

Around early summer, I started noticing that a lot of her supporters on here were displaying appalling behavior and nipping at the ankles of anyone who didn't completely agree with them.

Some of these were FReepers I had respected and liked for years.

I think what happened is that some of those ardent-to-the-point-of-obnoxious supporters lost face when Governor Palin announced she wasn't going to run and transferred that worship to Cain.

It's a shame to see decent people become obsessed in this manner and I'm sure the candidates (with the possible exception of Ron Paul) don't care for this cult-like worship.

These little hyenas should review their behavior and approach and try to regain their senses of rationale. This is an important election and we could do without the whole giggly, Tiger Beat fangirl thing mucking up the works.
