Staffers furious after 1,000 fired from Corzine's bankrupt firm MF Global
NEW YORK POST ^ | November 12, 2011 | KAJA WHITEHOUSE, ANTONIO ANTENUCCI

Screw you, Jon Corzine.

All 1,066 employees of the bankrupt trading house MF Global got the boot yesterday in a pre-holiday massacre that left workers without severance and benefits -- and they blamed only one man for their woes.

...

If Corzine were around, DiMatteo told Bloomberg News, “I would punch him in the face.”

...

Bankruptcy trustee James Giddens is still trying to find about $600 million in missing customer money. Forensic probers are trying to account for the brokerage firm’s assets, and federal agencies are investigating whether MF mixed company funds with money missing from customer accounts.

Does it take practice to be such a jerk?

I suspect these nerds are homeless in 3 months.

They're not all nerds, they're not all traders. There are also peons with no degrees who do the small stuff like secretaries, receptionists and the mail room staff..

And lets not forget about the cleaning contractors who just lost a major client as well as the company that supplies the coffee products........

How would I know, you’d have to ask Coritisone. The question here is whether we should feel sorry for people that continue working for that jerk. I will state again that ANYONE working there had plenty of opportunity to leave, but chose to stay and ‘cash in’.

Those people laid down with dogs, and woke up with fleas. They should have known what a slime ball Corzine was.

I know those people too. I went to college with them.

You went to college with the secretaries? The receptionists? The mail room folks? Sorry but it's unlikely they had the same privilege as you did.....

You're full of crap and a disgusting POS and a posterboy for DU on the hypocrisy of alleged "compassionate conservatives".......You really don't belong here dude.

I’ve been called worse. I live in Texas and HATE Perry (and let this site know it), so you can imagine the names that I get called for that.

As far as the lower-level people are concerned, that’s life - they get laid off whether they work for Corzine or Reagan, doesn’t matter - that’s how it goes. They also, usually, have marketable skills, so they’ll get picked up by others.

Everyone (including you) knows full-well that I’m referring to jerks that run around in their fancy cars, fancy homes, fancy women, etc...and think it will be that way for the next 40 years. I simply could CARE LESS for them - most of them supported Obama (with money, as well as votes), and now they threw in with Cortisone - so THEY DESERVE IT.

But nice try...

“Happy holidays, Corzine, from all your employees who’ve been fired without severance packages!” a worker fumed at the former chief as she left the firm’s midtown New York building.

“I have two little kids, it’s almost Christmas, the economy stinks — how am I gonna find a job?” said another worker who just cleaned out his desk.

No goofball I worked for another CO that was fine. When Refco went under MF stepped in and got all those accounts cuz they were really good. I got some of those Refco accounts too.I could have gotten a job with MF in a second. I know those guys. .....but I would have had to give up my current accounts and start from scratch. Would not have been financially prudent.

>>and they blamed only one man for their woes. ..

Blame yourselves.

Ever wonder if the clerks who empowered Adolph Hitler.... hadn’t?

It is incumbent upon the honorable craftsman to be aware
of whether or not his services are being used
as a means to accomplish evil ends -
and to act (or NOT) accordingly.

FAIL.

Agreed. It just like the Bernie Madoff investors. They were counting on Madoff having inside information that would yield them an advantage over other investment firms. Same with Goldmann-Sachs-connected Corzine.

The common denominator of all the current scandals is Marxism.

The common denominator of all the current scandals is Democrats.

Thanks so much. It’s hard getting supporters when you get your hands dirty in stuff like this. I also went after Arthur Andersen back in its day. That outfit seemed to always turn up when books were being cooked. I simply had trouble believing that the hot shots there were oblivious to their continuous (and always one-sided) ‘mistakes’. But man did I get some feedback.

Madoff is a good analogy - the people that gave him their money knew he was doing “something” because of the (paper) returns they kept seeing, but they preferred not to know exactly what. Obviously those working for Madoff knew what was going on and I suspect that most people working for Corzine knew also...and that’s likey one of the reasons they will have a hard time finding their next job.

As far as I know, I can comment on ANYTHING on this site. If people were STUPID enough to keep working when Corzine took over...well, that’s their problem then. I would venture to say that most people on this site would have run for the hills when a crook like that turns up in charge.

One thing that tipped me off about Corzine was a proposal he offered shortly after his election to the US Senate. He proposed a bill which dictated that no more than 20% of anyone’s investment portfolio be invested in a single stock. He proposed this at a time when 85% of his won personal portfolio was invested in Goldmann-Sachs stock. Clearly, Corzine is a man who believes that the rules do not apply to him.

What an animal. Why didn’t he simply demand Power of Attorney over everyone in the country while he was at it.

I did, they are called English Literature and Womyn Studies majors

And I have zero compassion for them also. Those who worked for Corslime are no different than the CNN and New York Times reporters who are now are losing their jobs after years of lying and propagandizing.
