No you can’t. If Newt or any other RINO were nominated; they would throw the election just like McCain because that is who they are.

It was a simple mistake...

We read Miranda rights to German soldiers during World War II, right? And granted them full access to our court system and a free attorney if they lacked money to pay for one, right? I'm sure that's how it worked.

How could Gingrich not know this? /s

Pelley is clearly clueless on history, consider

To all
This needs to be sent to the CBS News Cretin who mouthed no to Gingrich regarding the whacking of Al-Alwaki.

“.....
Martin James Monti, Peter Delaney, the SS-Standarte Kurt Eggers are Americans who are known to have fought for the Germans in World War II in the Waffen-SS or any other units. There are German records of five Americans fighting in the Waffen-SS in May 1940, American records of Monti's treason case, and also records of eight American soldiers killed during their service to the Germany. ...”

I am sure there were American citizens of Italian descent who went back and served Mussolini and died in that effort.
Probably even a few American citizens of Japanese descent who went back and died for the Emperor. Probably other examples too in past conflicts!

So in short it's been done before !

Now if they want to argue about a need for declaration of war in the “War on Terror” I somewhat agree. Though functionally when Bush was voted authorization it was a declaration of war. I would have proffered one that actually used those terms. Counter argument was how do you declare war on non-state entities, my retort to that was Washington is full of wordsmith lawyers who could generate the right prose, they should have gone and done it!

Newt is BY FAR the smartest person in the room- I hope he is the VP of whoever gets the nom.

I hope it is Cain/Gingrich

I wish they would team up before the Iowa races, along with the other candidates, to make sure Romney loses

Why should the smartest guy in the room be VP?

Have you read Newt’s 21st-Contract? Has Cain laid out anything like that? Does Cain have the knowledge to fundamentally change this country and set it back on the right path? Yeah, right. Could Cain walk into the oval office tomorrow morning and have the slightest idea of what to do without massive counseling?

I like Cain and expect he’ll be in Gingrich’s administration in some high capacity. I would not expect him to be named as VP because he isn’t qualified to become president. But as a cabinet member, perhaps, Secretary of Commerce? Very possibly.

I would love for America to witness a free style debate between Newt and Baraq.

So would I but Obama would never allow that. He will do another “Town Hall” scripted rehearsed question/answer/teleprompter show where Newt will not be invited. Only Obama will be on stage.

Saw the comments at the CBS site.
LOL! Libertarians usually love Patrick Henry!

“Those who declare war against the human race may be struck out of existence as soon as they are apprehended. He was not executed according to those beautiful legal ceremonies which are pointed out by the laws in criminal cases. The enormity of his crimes did not entitle him to it. I am truly a friend to legal forms and methods; but, sir, the occasion warranted the measure.
A pirate, an outlaw, or a common enemy to all mankind, may be put to death at any time. It is justified by the laws of nature and nations. “

Pelley's precious "courts" long ago determined that the Authorization For The Use Of Military Force was tantamount to, and had the full effect of, a Declaration of War.

In other words, he doesn't even have that justification.

I think Newt is in it for real and will go as far as the primaries take him. If I were the press, he’d be there full time. Some of his ideas about cutting and how to get the folks up to speed and off the federal teat seem much needed.

Absolutely correct. I’m 100% for Cain but I would really like to see Newt vs Obastard head to head without prompting, notes, or earphones.
