This is the seventh draft of this column.

The first six drafts were riddled with too many words that would have gotten me permanently banned from writing any more columns, so I had to try to tone things down.

What we have here is a classic breakdown of moral responsibilty by more than one man and one institution

Albert Einstein once said, “The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.”

That's it in a nutshell.

Hmmmmmmm......the media had absolutely no role in this. All those news articles and movies and tv shows aggrandizing homosexuality and irresponsible sex played no part in this. Young boys, watching tv, would think that homosexuality and irresponsible sex is OK, so they wouldn’t report it. Maybe that was the plan all along.

Well and truly 823ing, stated. 978 327 the enabling degenerates at Penn 546 State University. And that cesspool is but one of hundreds of 823ing colleges in need of fumigation for the social rot they enable and promote.

I once was waiting in line at the grocer, and the cashier was berating an elderly lady for being confused. I started in on the cashier, defending the lady and chastising him for his rudeness and disrespect. I demanded that he apologize to her. He did.

Not that this is anything close to what happened at Penn State, but when I see cruelty or abuse, I step in to stop it. And I am a short middle-aged woman. I will probably get myself killed one day for this, but I could not live with myself if I let it go by.

A young, male, strong, athletic person should have done no less.

The football program at Penn State should be shut down for at least 3 years as a deterrent.

and the messages they aired by the new Penn State acting President talked about restoring honor and pride and “We are Penn State” - but not one word about the victims.

Why the NCAA is allowing Penn State to play is beyond me. Wait; actually, I do know why they are being allowed to play: M-O-N-E-Y.

It’s a shame that the alleged victims take a backseat to the revenue the football team generates for the university. It’s a travesty that anyone could still support the Nittany Lions.

Albert Einstein once said, “The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.”

The situation at Penn State proves this quote to be true.

Interestingly enough, nittany means “single mountain.” Unfortunately, due to those people who knew about what allegedly occurred and did nothing, the football mountain at Penn State was sustained on the backs of little boys.

The police code for child molestation is 428. So regarding the Penn State sex abuse scandal, the score would be Penn State 428, Little Boys 0.

A good article/editorial.

My new base litmus test for any men I'll associate with: We agree that if we ever encounter a child being molested/raped that we will immediately intervene to our fullest capability on behalf of the child and if the perp survives they'll be fortunate. That is all.

Grrr....

It’s disgusting...

I’m all for shutting down this P o S football program for a minimum of 4 years.

Fire all involved in the cover-up.

So...the star running back's mom gets a new condo and Mercedes, and the College football program gets the “NCAA death penalty”...Penn State has a twink raper recruiting high school boys...NCAA? A violation of the rules? Yes, No?

Not surprising, Penn State is one of their primary “meal tickets.” The other whore of note this week is NASCAR for inviting the Wookie and Biden’s “wife” to be grand marshals at an upcoming race. What a disgrace!

The football program at Penn State should be shut down for at least 3 years as a deterrent until all the victims of Sandouchebagsky and his enablers say they have recovered from the abuse inflicted upon them.

I expect there to be thousands of people converging on Columbus this weekend to give the Penn State team, a less-than-warm welcome.

Good for you for admonishing the cashier. But the cashier was an anonymous stranger with little control over your life and destiny. Would you have done likewise if the person dishing out the abuse was your boss, the one who signs your paycheck and could seriously undermine your career? You may think the answer is yes, but until you've been placed in that position it is difficult to know what you will do. I'd like to think that I would have immediatly called the police in that situation, never mind calling poppa and going to Paterno, as I'm sure you think you would have. But I can't be sure about what I would have done since I've never been placed in such a position. I admire you for your certainty that you would have thrown caution to the wind and done the right thing.

It's easy to judge others shortcomings in these situations, and I condemn McCreary's inaction as well. But we also need to understand the powerful conflict he had to have found himself in.
