Sandusky proclaims innocence in NBC interview (NBC Interview airs at 10pm)

NEW YORK (AP) — Jerry Sandusky said in an interview with NBC that he is innocent of the child sex abuse charges that have rocked Penn State and cost coach Joe Paterno his job, though the former defensive coordinator acknowledged he "horsed around" and touched kids.

In a telephone interview, scheduled to be aired Monday night on NBC News' "Rock Center," Sandusky responded, "No," when Bob Costas asked if he was a pedophile.

"I am innocent of those charges," the 67-year-old Sandusky said. "... I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact."

Sandusky, once considered Paterno's heir apparent, is charged with sexually abusing eight boys over a 15-year span, with several of the alleged assaults occurring on Penn State property. Athletic director Tim Curley and Penn State vice president Gary Schultz are charged with perjury, and Paterno and president Graham Spanier were fired for not doing enough after Sandusky was accused of assaulting a young boy in the showers of the campus football complex in 2002.

Obama: Penn State abuse cause for 'soul-searching'
http://www.wkrn.com ^ | November 11, 2011 | Associated Press

CORONADO, Calif. (AP) - President Barack Obama says the Penn State sex-abuse scandal should lead to "soul-searching" by all Americans, not just Penn State.

"Obviously what happened was heartbreaking, especially for the victims, the young people who got affected by these alleged assaults," he told Westwood One Radio in an interview Friday night, in his first public comments on the scandal.

"And I think it's a good time for the entire country to do some soul-searching - not just Penn State. People care about sports, it's important to us, but our No. 1 priority has to be protecting our kids. And every institution has to examine how they operate, and every individual has to take responsibility for making sure that our kids are protected."

Obama's (former) "Safe School Czar" Kevin
"use a condom" Jennings
__________________________________________________________

From the Washington Times...

EDITORIAL: At the president's pleasure
'Safe school czar' encouraged child sex with an older man
September 28, 2009

A teacher was told by a 15-year-old high school sophomore that he was having homosexual sex with an "older man." At the very least, statutory rape occurred. Fox News reported that the teacher violated a state law requiring that he report the abuse. That former teacher, Kevin Jennings, is President Obama's "safe school czar". It's getting hard to keep track of all of this president's problematic appointments. Clearly, the process for vetting White House employees has broken down.

In this one case in which Mr. Jennings had a real chance to protect a young boy from a sexual predator, he not only failed to do what the law required but actually encouraged the relationship.

According to Mr. Jennings' own description in a new audiotape discovered by Fox News, the 15-year-old boy met the "older man" in a "bus station bathroom" and was taken to the older man's home that night. When some details about the case became public, Mr. Jennings threatened to sue another teacher who called his failure to report the statutory rape "unethical." Mr. Jennings' defenders asserted that there was no evidence that he was aware the student had sex with the older man.

However, the new audiotape contradicts this claim. In 2000, Mr. Jennings gave a talk to the Iowa chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, an advocacy group that promotes homosexuality in schools. On the tape, Mr. Jennings recollected that he told the student to make sure "to use a condom" when he was with the older man. That he actively encouraged the relationship is reinforced by Mr. Jennings' own description in his 1994 book, "One Teacher in 10." In that account, the teacher boasts how he allayed the student's concerns about the relationship to such a degree that the 15-year-old "left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on the campus for the next two years, until he graduated."

Mr. Jennings' denials about these events reveal a lack of remorse. He has not admitted that he made mistakes in this case, and he now refuses to answer any questions about the scandal. Don't forget, this is a presidential appointee we're talking about. Mr. Obama should make clear what his standards are for public servants serving at the pleasure of the president. Encouraging and covering up man-boy sexual activity are serious offenses. The White House should force Mr. Jennings to come clean.

I’m not surprised they had Bob Costas interview Sandusky. Costas often inserts digs against the US in his commentary such as the opening ceremonies of the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

There are no words to describe the disgust. I would very much like to volunteer to be a ‘sitting’ judge because I guarantee you, justice would prevail.

This nation has become more depraved than any other in history and I would speculate even worse than Sodom and Gomorrah

"When I listened to Jerry’s “horseplay” story last night, it sounded EXACTLY like the GJ testimony from Schultz and Curly. I’m left with the impression those two talked to Jerry after they met with McQueary and decided to accept his version of events."

Of course they did, they chose the version that would protect Penn State, not the boys. That's the nadir of college athletics.

They've gotten their bs stories straight. But they're worried one of them is gonna flip...

Why? Because they're all going to the pokey. This mother who says the Pennsylvania State Police demanded her silence. She's the key to so many things now. Who told her not to speak, and how far up did that go?

"First and foremost is the sad fact that no victims were willing to come forward until the 1998 incident on the Penn State campus. At that time Jerry Sandusky allegedly took a shower with a young boy who claims that he was touched inappropriately.

The mother of the victim told the Pat-News that she was kept from speaking with media by the state police. No charges were filed and as we have come to learn, Sandusky abruptly retired from his longtime position as defensive coordinator at Penn State in 1999, maintaining an office on the premises and full access to the campus."

“... know Costas is a left winger , but why would he give this creep a platform to lie ?...”

Because Sandusky is one of their Protected Victim Classes - first and foremost homo, then a child molester.

Not good for the agenda, you see....must protect the agenda and the gains they’ve made.

Yes, he will either commit Arkancide or disappear completely like the DA, Gricar, who was investigating this. If this evil man was selling boys to rich donors, these perverts will see to it that he won’t talk.

I would like to know how much involvement Paterno had in all this. He has a curious past, and then there is the issue of the entire administration, especially the president of Penn State who is an advocate for homosexual causes. The rot goes deep.

The question I have is why was he showering anyway? He is the coach. Does he sweat enough to shower? Why don’t the coaches have their own showers. Even coaches showering with the college athletes is not a good idea. This guy is so disgusting!!!! He is blaming the kids now....

James Calhoun may also be a victim here. It doesn’t say he suffers dementia as a result of what he saw, but he was very visibly disturbed by the incident.

I wonder if any of this is in any way related to his dementia?

If Mr. Calhoun is a blackman and the victim was a little black boy, I wonder how his fellow janitors kept him from wading into Sandusky with both fists blazing. right there and personal like?

NBC engineered a massive public witness tampering last night, allowing the sleazy sexual predator who is playing lawyer for Sandusky to threaten the as yet unnamed victims with public exposure if they do not recant. And not even the conservative godman, Rush Limbaugh, will address that fact! I will be very disappointed in Greta if she does not bring it up at least in her blog forum.

In my darker moments, I sometime think John Doe was onto something. "Innocent? Is that supposed to be funny? An obese man... a disgusting man who could barely stand up; a man who if you saw him on the street, you'd point him out to your friends so that they could join you in mocking him; a man, who if you saw him while you were eating, you wouldn't be able to finish your meal. After him, I picked the lawyer and I know you both must have been secretly thanking me for that one. This is a man who dedicated his life to making money by lying with every breath that he could muster to keeping murderers and rapists on the streets! A woman... so ugly on the inside she couldn't bear to go on living if she couldn't be beautiful on the outside. A drug dealer, a drug dealing pederast, actually! And let's not forget the disease-spreading whore! Only in a world this sh!++y could you even try to say these were innocent people and keep a straight face. But that's the point. We see a deadly sin on every street corner, in every home, and we tolerate it. We tolerate it because it's common, it's trivial. We tolerate it morning, noon, and night. "
