(33) And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you? (34) And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. (35) So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.

Luke 18:9-14 NIV The Parable of the Pharisee and Tax Collector 9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: God, I thank you that I am not like other peoplerobbers, evildoers, adulterersor even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get. 13 But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, God, have mercy on me, a sinner. 14 I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
Luke 6:42 NIV How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
Alamo-Girl - I forgot to thank you for thanking someone who believes in redemption. There are so many bitter people on this forum, it worries me sometimes.
http://marriage.about.com/od/politics/a/gingrichn_2.htm
Gingrich pursued the teacher, bragging to his classmates that he was going to marry her.
Gringrich was 19 years old when he married his first wife.
Gringrich and his wife were married for nineteen(19) years and had two daughters together. They divorced in 1981.
I believe Newt went to Congress in 1978. While in DC he met wife #2, a DC socialite. He cheated on wife #1 and eventually went through a bitter divorce to marry wife #2.
Wife #3 he met while he was in Congress. She was an intern (aka staffer). He started an affair with Wife #3 while married to Wife #2.
Newt, then Speaker of the House, was boinking his intern at the same time Clinton was getting Lewinskied in the Oval Office Restroom. (As a side note the sex crazed poodle, Al Gore, was probably getting a massage down the hall.)
Now, there is a common thread here among powerful Politicians and I don't think it has anything to do with Newt's relationship with his first wife.
I think it has everything to do with the power these men have to get away with anything their heart's desire. Including infidelity, sexual assault, insider trading, benefits from lobbyists....I think we all get the point.
I am tired of Politicians in the White House.
I'll stay with the Cain Train. He is one of We The People.
He is intelligent, inspirational and most of all not a Career Politician.
Smart-aleck. :)
Many similarities, but Newt does not have Churchill’s sense of humour.
*grin*
A 16 year old does not attract a teacher who understands her responsibility and the difference between adult and child.
Coach Sandusky could probably say some of the teen boys pursued him.
Like I said, we recently put a female teacher in jail for doing what this teacher was doing with Newt.

But among the current crop of politicians in America, the closest to Winston Churchill is clearly Newt Gingrich. ... Winston Churchill was not utilized during the years of appeasement in Great Britain-neither one was a team player, both were brilliant, and both had a pyrotechnic ability to piss people off.
I posted something similar a few months ago. Newt might be very good as RNC head. I hope he is never President, because as you say, he Churchillian in both his virtues, and his flaws. It took WWII, and Hitler's early victories, for Parliament to turn to Churchill, who shortly before had been dismissed as an aging, mentally unstable, alcholic, warmongering, blowhard. And that was by his own party. Labour thought even less of him.
While I would welcome his as RNC Chair, I hope we never face a crisis so grave that Newt's flaws won't keep him out of the White House.
I still think Newt's flaws will keep him out of the White House. But BO is working hard to make things bad enough to give him a chance.
If you are so blinded by your newt hate that you can somehow intellectually rationalize a teacher having an affair with a 16-year old because the 16-year old pursued her, then we are all in bigger trouble than we think... get a clue. Hate stinks.
What was your position on Bill ClInton and Monica Lewinsky?
They were both having affairs at the same time.
Newt supporters are able to rationalize Newt's behavior just like Newt.
I guess guess since Bill Clinton got God's forgiveness and got re-elected POTUS so can Newt.
And we wonder why our Country has no moral compass.

I am a Christian Conservative and if you want to accept Newt ‘s convenient walk with God this election season that is your call.
I don’t trust anything Newt Gingrich says - even if he says it most eloquently.
Peace be with you.
Your judgmentalness and hard heart turns more people off to christianity - and keeps them away from Christ and His churches - than any heathen ever could. You might want to think about that, oh, you without sin. Just out of curiosity, how do you know the contents of Newt’s heart or whether he is sincere? Or is that another one of your spiritual gifts?
Thank you oh so very much for those beautiful Scriptures!
I try to post them when I see how hard some hearts are towards Newt and others on this forum... I keep hoping they will help some so-called christians who judge, not just Newt, but others without remembering we are all sinners who come oh so pitifully short of the awesome glory of God!
I’m just wondering if Churchill Jr. could get thru 4 years in the White House without dumping the First Lady for a staffer.
Truthfully, I hope we don’t have to find out the answer to that one. :)
Thank you for the insight.
I thought the article raised some interesting points. There is no doubt Gingrich is great at the debates. I'm still sticking with Perry because of his executive experience and faith. Please don't misunderstand by faith I don't mean which church he is a member of. By faith I mean his Christianity and his desire to act like a Christian is directed to.
All that being said, if it comes down to Gingrich or Romney it's a no brainer for me. I vote for Gingrich.
I think we will get a good read in 3 months on who the top 2, or 3, candidates are and then we will see who the most viable anti-Romney candidate is. I think Gingrich is drawing a lot of well deserved interest, but I am waiting for that moment where he wanders off on some intellectual tangent which the media will blow up and discredit him. I'm still not inclined to let throwing Paul Ryan "under the bus" go and think he will do something similar again.
