What a Cain Administration Might Look Like
The New York Times ^ | November 15, 2011 | RICHARD A. OPPEL JR

Posted on 11/15/2011 12:50:32 PM PST by mdittmar

While Herman Cain’s foreign policy stumbles have raised questions about his command of the facts, he says he would consult with military officials and other expert advisers to guide him through the thicket of world affairs.

So who might advise a President Cain? Henry Kissinger, the 88-year-old former secretary of state, has already turned down returning to that job in a Cain administration, the candidate says.

“He said he’s perfectly happy doing what he’s doing,” Mr. Cain told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

In a new video excerpt posted on the newspaper’s Web site, Mr. Cain responds to a question from editors and reporters about who could serve in his administration by citing a number of people he said he has had conversations with.

These include, he said, John R. Bolton, the former ambassador to the United Nations; K.T. McFarland, a onetime aide to Mr. Kissinger and former Pentagon spokeswoman under President Ronald Reagan; Senator Jim DeMint, Republican of South Carolina; and Gen. Jack Chain Jr., now retired, a former head of the Strategic Air Command. Mr. Cain also said he was fond of Representative Paul Ryan, the Wisconsin Republican who is chairman of the House Budget Committee.

“My administration will have a majority of business people as well as some seasoned officeholders who are not afraid to challenge the status quo,” said Mr. Cain, a former pizza executive and restaurant-industry lobbyist. “That’s the main quality that I am looking for.”

Another segment of the newspaper’s interview posted online on Monday showed Mr. Cain stumbling with awkward pauses through five minutes of questioning about whether or not he agreed with President Obama’s Libya policy.

I am not ridiculing him I am ridiculing the idea that you don’t have to know anything and can get by on just listening to experts. Every expert there was told Mac Author Inchon would fail. All the experts called Reagan economic plan “Voodoo economics”. Experts in the North said the “rebellion” would be over in 90s days. Leaders, great leaders have a very good idea on what they are doing, why they are doing it and what the out come will be. Just saying I would consult with my experts does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling about the future of our country under President Cain.

I'd like too see new faces running agencies and in advisory positions and I don't mean the same new old faces we have seen since 1989 either. We need a good and capable Secretary of State as well as Secretary of Defense. We have not had such in over two decades now. We need an Attorney General who respects the Constitution of the United States and uphold our laws including ones on immigration and will enforce them. We need the EPA shut down. I don't see Romney, Perry, nor Newt, as ones who will bring in new faces with any different ideas than what the Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama policies have brought. I think all three are to the left of even what Bush presidents were.

Outside of a highly unlikely DeMint or Paul Ryan entrance Cain is the only Republican I see who can lead this nation back toward where we once were instead of more deeper into where we are headed at a slower pace. His asking Henry K to join the team I think was partially in jest. Henry is K is about 89 and no where near up too the task anyway LOL.

I do know this much I expect the DEMs too be liberal socialist. I expected far better leadership from the GOP though and the past two decades the GOP has not taken the lead when given even golden opportunities to do so. I will not accept not vote for Rockefeller Republicans nor those who previously had their chance to lead and quit while in office.

If Newt for example wanted to be POTUS he should have earned trust back by holding office. Governor would have been a start but Newt thinks or hopes some Conservatives have short memories. Nothing Newt has done in the past two years shows me Newt is conservative. Perry the same thing. Romney I don't even have to say it. His DEM agenda record is long standing.

Nobody can afford to be arrogant or so self-assured to this level before the first primary vote is even cast. Having said that, if he dodges the long knives out for him planted by Karl Rove, David Axelrod, Politico, the Government-Media Complex, Gloria Allred, a cast of skanks, and even some conservatives (shame on them), then I nominate for President Cain's team, as Press Secretary: Michelle Malkin. Now that would be a GOOD Michelle in the White House for a change!!

She would be GREAT on her feet, and would run absolute circles around the liberal press, she is eloquent on TV, knows DC, the tricks of the trade, is a journalist herself, and is solid and unwavering. Being a minority (1/2 Asian 1/2 African-American) while not a deciding factor, would also make liberal heads explode, I guarantee you.

("AmericanInTokyo" for Deputy Chief of Mission, US Embassy, Japan--shameless plug)

Still, a lonnnnnng way to go before we even get to this point, and it is all in God's loving hands whether He truly wishes Cain to be our next president and smack the ever loving, living daylights out of the Obongo Team next year.

The worst kind of leader is one who thinks he knows everything, and thinks he is smarter than every one else. Example: Barack Obama.
So, I agree with your thinking.
