Newt Gingrich crushes Cain, Romney, Perry and Paul in California PPP poll

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has crushed pizza magnate Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Texas Governor Rick Perry and Texas Congressman Ron Paul in a California Public Policy Polling poll of Republican primary voters. With 33 percent of the votes, Gingrich is 10 percentage points in front of Romney and 11 percentage points in front of Cain. Gingrich is 27 percentage points ahead of Perry and 28 percentage points ahead of Paul. The California PPP poll is the latest evidence that Gingrich is benefiting from Cain’s trouble with sexual harassment allegations stemming from his tenure as head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s.

California Public Policy Poll.

Got to see the metrics before it means a thing.

I am hoping Cain and Newt finish 1-2 either way and then are together on the ticket. Cain as Pres and Newt as his VP.

There are others who could do equally well...but that’s my pick at this point.

Flavor of the week. Now that we have had all of them thrown in our faces, lets get behind the only non-establishment candidate in the race, HERMAN CAIN!!!

Obama and the Dems are hoping the Repubs are stupid enough to put Newt against him.

Mitt has zero chance if he can't win California !

ROFL!

WOOT! Happy day!

Mitt is in the low single digits in Texas and down by 10 in California, combine those facts with him for sure losing every southern state and it's curtains for the magic mormon

Unfortunate that California is so important in primary elections because the chance that they will break for the GOP nominee in the general election is essentially nil. Plenty of good CA FReepers out there, but the state GOP as a whole seems to be fixated on finding candidate liberal enough to suit the overall California electorate. In most parts of the country, we would call those candidates “Democrats”.

I would rather Cain won, but I could live with Newt since anything is better than Mitt.

This from the state that wouldn't even fend off the crying Nicky Diaz/Gloria All-red hit against (very moderate) Meg Whitman.

Kalifornia just won't wake up.

California is voting Democrap, so this poll is meaningless.

...pizza magnate Herman Cain...

Notice how the lamestream dinosaur media constantly trivializes Herman Cain's impressive accomplishment by referring to just one of his positions.

We all know that he's done so much more than successfully oversee the turnaround of Godfather's but that's all the drivebys ever mention. They oh-so-conveniently overlook his experience in the Navy as a ballistics analyst and his work on behalf of Americans for Prosperity.

If Gingrich is stealing all of Romney’s independent vote this is good.

Raise your hand if you believe that the Republican presidential candidate will win California’s electoral vote next year...

I agree, Herman needs to start selling “himself” as well and as forcefully as he has sold 999

I bet 95% of the people don’t know a thing about him besides that he is a black conservative that ran a pizza joint and supposedly felt up some skank.

He’s done Jim. Done. Wow. That shakes up my calculations.

Cain takes the lead, and is the presumptive frontrunner now.
