Newt Gingrich crushes Cain, Romney, Perry and Paul in California PPP poll

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has crushed pizza magnate Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Texas Governor Rick Perry and Texas Congressman Ron Paul in a California Public Policy Polling poll of Republican primary voters. With 33 percent of the votes, Gingrich is 10 percentage points in front of Romney and 11 percentage points in front of Cain. Gingrich is 27 percentage points ahead of Perry and 28 percentage points ahead of Paul. The California PPP poll is the latest evidence that Gingrich is benefiting from Cain’s trouble with sexual harassment allegations stemming from his tenure as head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s.

California “Republicans”, all 27 of them and 18 are RINOs. We of the GOP base nationwide want a real conservative and one will emerge through the primaries, God willing.

And who do you think they actually fear?

Herman Cain

Seriously I wish Palin would reconsider, I know it’s past the filing deadline in some of the early states, but who cares, she should just go for it.

that’s exactly right!

people don’t get it! this dooms Romney and puts Cain as the clear frontrunner in delegates.

Herman needs to spend a week with John Bolton learning foreign policy. He has to be able to talk about these things with authority and tell voters exactly why what Obama is doing around the world is such a complete disaster.

Really? Cain? WTH? He can’t explain anything to anybody...he’s a waste..he’s toast anyway. Newt/Santorum. Cain is foolish...I can’t understand anything he says..his soundbites are cool, I guess. Happy he sold a lot of books.

>> I am hoping Cain and Newt finish 1-2 either way and then are together on the ticket. Cain as Pres and Newt as his VP. There are others who could do equally well...but that’s my pick at this point. <<

I haven't endorsed any candidate at this point, but I could live with Cain. As for Gingrich, Mr. sit-on-the-couch with Nancy Pelosi & lecture us about "right-wing social engineering" can take a long walk off a short pier. Being a good debater doesn't make you a good President. He certainly wasn't a good Speaker. If Cain announces Newt as his choice for veep, he'll lose my vote in the primary.

My vote in the primary will be Cain but if Bachmann or Santorum get the nod I am happy. In the general, the ONLY candidates that are acceptable to me are Cain, Bachmann and Santorum. If they are not the nomination, I am writing in Cain. This party is so dumb if they are not going to pick one of these three conservatives. I am sick and tired of the liberal Republicans getting the nom. I am done with this. This is our one time probably forever to get a 100 percent conservative into the White House and once again the Republicans are trying to screw this up.

Bolton may be already taken. I read Newt wants him for Secretary of State.

Gingrich needs to win in Iowa or New Hampshire or he’ll never make it to California.

Unfortunately, the polls are showing that he is stealing support from Cain but not from Romney. If he beats Cain in Iowa, Cain will effectively be out of the race. Then Gingrich will be an easy target for his support of obamacare, global warming, etc and the final outcome is unpredictable.

“If Cain announces Newt as his choice for veep, he’ll lose my vote in the primary.”..........Why would Cain announce that Newt his his VP pick when they are both competing in the upcoming primaries? Do you mean the ‘general’ election?

Notice how the lamestream dinosaur media constantly trivializes Herman Cain's impressive accomplishment by referring to just one of his positions.

That is true, but these once a week gaffs and misstatements are not helping any. He rose to prominence in this race by himself and he has no one but himself to blame for his current problems. He needs to take a week off and cram on foreign policy.

“I would rather Cain won, but I could live with Newt since anything is better than Mitt.”

Don’t be so past tense! The election season is young!

He tied Mitt, I don’t really see how that’s a defeat for Cain. 22 percent of the CA vote is about what we expected.

Seems all the Perry folks are breaking to Newt, rather than supporting Cain, which is a disappointment, but not in CA.

I’ll take being 10 points down in CA.
