Ex-PSU Grad Assistant Matt Paknis On WFAN: Paterno Knows Everything
CBS New York ^ | 16 Nov 11 | unattributed

Posted on 11/16/2011 11:51:29 AM PST by LSUfan

A former child-abuse victim himself, former football grad assistant Matt Paknis believes Joe Paterno knew about Jerry Sandusky’s alleged sexual abuse against children years ago.

Paknis joined WFAN’s Mike Francesa on Tuesday to talk about his time at Penn State.

Paknis was a graduate assistant on the Nittany Lions football staff in 1987 and 1988. He says Sandusky exhibited questionable behavior towards the players back then.

The grand jury report was mistakenly made publicly available on the web.

Ahh! Interesting.

How did the grand jury come to be seated? Someone came forward recently, or what?

Paterno always let his D-Coordinator call the D. Offensive play calling is done “by committee” most years. O-coordinator upstairs calls the plays down to the sideline where they are wagged in. Sometimes a play gets substituted by Paterno or the QB coach. It’s always been a kludge.

Lawyer Says Alleged Sandusky Victim Will Testify to Severe Sexual Assault
By BILL PENNINGTON

Ben Andreozzi, a Pennsylvania lawyer representing one of eight alleged victims in the Penn State sexual child abuse case, called Jerry Sandusky a “coward” on Wednesday and said that Sandusky’s recent comments on television had emboldened his client to pursue sexual assault charges against Sandusky.

“Mr. Sandusky suggested in some of his comments about the victims that maybe people were backing off,” Andreozzi said in a telephone interview from his office in Harrisburg, Pa. “My client heard that and has dug in his heels. He is feeling more comfortable about going through with this. The comments maybe backfired. They have caused victims to be more motivated to testify against him.”

Andreozzi added: “I have my finger on the pulse of this case. I don’t know of any existing assault victims changing their story or refusing to testify. To the contrary, others are actually coming forward.”

Andreozzi, whose practice has specialized in child sexual abuse cases, also said he was upset that Penn State had not reached out to any of the victims.

Back when Penn State was an “Independent” they put a lot of assistant coaches at other independent programs. That’s like 30 years ago, but Navy, Rutgers, Temple, UVa, are a few off the top.

Gee, one name?

I know when you have a successful football progrem, coaches are raided by other schools.

It seems odd for coaches to stay at one place for so long and not have any ambition to move on to a head coaching job.

Bill Parcells, in his autobio. stated that is what asst. coaches are looking forward to, their own hc job, not remaing asst. for the rest of their careers.

It wasn't like he was raping anybody anyone cared about - not local boys - or a minority who could run a pattern for PennState - just another “troubled youth”.

Amazing how the word 'lynch' gets used on a conservative website, a word the Left, likes to throw around.

The ones who are responsible for the condition that Penn State is in is the Administration and the coaching staff, they did this to the students.

Penn State needs to face reality, that their presence as a football team with most of those same coaches who were on the staff when Sandusky was and after, are simply telling the public, WE ARE PENN STATE and you can't do anything about it.

Well, we will see what the American People will do with a university that protects pedophiles and it won't be 'lynching' it will be justice, a justice that Penn State, refused to administer because it was too interested in winning football games.

I see. So then someone let Joe P. know all hell was going to break loose, and he transferred his half mil house to his wife last summer.

Thanks for helping me catch up.

PSU coaching staff is very small and relies heavily on Grad Assts. Seems like other universities football coaching staffs are much, much larger.

So who are you looking for "justice" from, Sandusky, Penn State admin or the 40,000 kids who never heard of the guy who retired 12 years ago? Who knows, maybe you just hate college football. Seems the kids on the team now had nothing to do with any of this but hang 'em anyway!

Kind of like blaming a parish for a bad priest. Doesn't make any sense.

I’m wondering how long Sandusky has lived there, with an elementary school right behind his house. If anyone at PSU knew where Sandusky lived and if so, why they still remained quiet. How in HADES can Sandusky be out on bail when he lives right next to an elementary school?!
