(CNN) -- A motorcade carrying Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Philippines was pelted with eggs and other objects Wednesday, the State Department confirmed
The incident occurred at 2:45 p.m. in Manila, when the motorcade was traveling from the presidential palace to another location, deputy State Department spokesman Mark Toner told reporters
"The secretary's motorcade ran into a crowd of approximately 40 to 50 people, protesters," Toner said. "They threw objects at the lead vehicle -- I believe it was eggs and paintballs, they maybe threw rock -- and the motorcade pulled out of that area
He also said that at no time was Clinton in danger.
Clinton is in the Philippines for commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the U.S.-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty.

Eggzactly!!
In the Philippines, heat ripened eggs are a delicacy; called "balut" (pronounced: bah-loot). I remember being there in the seventies and seeing the carts being pushed down the street with the barkers calling out "Bah Loot, Bah Loot, Fepsi"
Laurel is that you? Hardy is that you?. A good team..:O)
Conservative agitprop used to manipulate the sheeple into believing that people don’t respect America now that Obama’s President.
Everybody knows that the seas have stopped rising, the planet is healing and Filipinos love Hilary and Obama’s foreign policy.
Not like under Bush.
You just reminded me of this. If Hilary were a conservative black man the media would be reporting that story 24/7 along with all her lies and gaffes until he (she) resigned in disgrace.
BLECH!!!!!
Likely enough, somewhere on her person that I should not care to explore.

Eggs must be cheap in the Philippines.
Sniper fire
No they were probably “Baluts”, I think I speeled them correctally...hehe
They are a little crunchy when you eat them...It is a delicacy over there...
I washed a few down with some genuine San Miguel beer on occasional visits to P.I. back in the day...
Sometimes a lot of San Miguel before eating a lot of things over there...It tends to sanitize and prepare your digestive system for what is to come...
;-)
I am sure they will say walang anuman. My Pinay just became a US citizen yesterday, the right way, through the immigration process. We have a new voting conservative.
Congratulations and best wishes Mark to you and your maganda Pinay.
