Democrats see minefield in Occupy protests
By The Associated Press Wednesday, November 16, 2011
So far, Democrats have tried to have it both ways - embracing the movement's economic concerns while steering clear of its rougher edges.
"I think people feel separated from their government," President Barack Obama told ABC News. "They feel that their institutions are not looking out for them." The president has said his jobs plan, which would boost taxes on high earners, is a way to address some of the protesters' concerns.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has gone a step further, posting a petition, "100,000 Strong Standing With Occupy Wall Street," that blames Republican policies for the nation's economic discontent.

An Obama “approved” Molotov cocktail through a window at Macy’s would have some interesting effects!
Anyone with half a brain knows that the “Oh We Stink” crowd
is made up of pure Marxist Obots.
They are his people.
What a STUPID statement! Punishing the successful job creators to please a bunch of filthy communists FAILS every time it is tried. The concerns of the protesters are selfish, self-serving, and UNJUST.
I do not think that the people of this country want more failed policies featuring government jobs being awarded to cronies and Democrats. That approach is NOT the way to return us to prosperity.
OH, if only it were true!!!
I feel the government looking over my shoulder every day.
Every minute I feel the governments reaching in my pocket and taking my money from me because I wouldnt spend it right if they let me keep it.
Every day I feel the push of the government to do things their way instead of the way I would do them if left to my own judgment.
No Barak, I feel the government is smothering me with the way they look out for me.
The US government is an over protective mother.
It is like giving a kid its way every time it throws a tantrum, and then when it ends up in prison, oh where did we go wrong.
You should finish that last sentence as Samuel Jackson would finish it.
OH, if only it were true!!!
Too late. Obama told them to put on their marchin’ shoes - and they did. And they got the full support of the democrat party right out of the box. It’s all on tape ready to roll.
The Democratic Party is the party of left-wing extremists. It’s time they owned up to the reality.
Just a bunch of ANGRY BIRDS nesting.
Too late... you putrid dim turds own ows... **** you dims... you are rat bastards all!
I bet most of these so-called protesters voted DIM always through their wasted lives. This human-debris is DIM.
Hey, Occupiers, do you feel USED? All Dems LOVED you at the beginning but now you have become exactly what WE knew you would become and you are a liability. Now you will ALL be thrown under the bus for Political Expediency. Hahahahahahaha!
Wasting away again in my Obamaville........with apologies to J Buffett.
“****you dims... you are rat bastards all!”
Why are you so kind?
OWS =’s breeding ground for Democrats next generation.
Sorry I cant inside a mind that small. ;)
They want to find a way to politically mobilize those thousands of people who are posting sob stores on the 99 percent website, who feel they are a victim of everything, without the graphic images of hippies taking a dump in the streets.
>>embracing the movement’s economic concerns while steering clear of its rougher edges.
The latest on MA Senate (D) candidate Elizabeth Warren, whom I call Dizzy Miss Lizzie and whom is originally a carpetbagger from Oooooooooooooooklahoma where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plains:
>>U.S. Senate hopeful and Harvard Law prof Elizabeth Warren, who has claimed she laid the intellectual foundation for the Occupy Wall Street movement, is jilting the anti-corporate proteges in her own Ivy League yard, refusing to sign a petition in support of Occupy Harvard.
Warren, who declined to speak to the Herald, is focused on her campaign, said spokesman Kyle Sullivan.
>>Elizabeth hasnt signed the petition, but shes been standing up to Wall Street and the big banks for years and thats what shell do in the Senate, said Sullivan in a statement. People are frustrated and protesting for change, Elizabeth understands that.
The move distances Warren from an organization that is losing public support, according to a Public Policy Polling survey released yesterday. It also has made her a target of the Karl Rove-backed Crossroads GPS political organization, which unleashed a negative ad last week blasting her for supporting radicals over jobs. Warren backed off her intellectual foundation claim a day after making it, saying she doesnt support all Occupy actions but stressing that shes been fighting Wall Street for years. But Warren supports the movement so long as they follow the law, Sullivan said.
>>Occupy Harvard members were unwilling to criticize Warren yesterday.
I’m wondering why old hippie Wavy Gravy from the “Woodstock” movie wasn’t there to yell, “We must be in heaven, man! There’s always a little bit of heaven in a disaster area!”
