Enjoy it while it lasts. It will not be there long the way Newt is stepping in it.

It’s possible that Republicans in Iowa are beginning to face reality, as I have. There is no perfect candidate, there’s not even a very good candidate. I think, I hope, I pray, that Gingrich can win, and is up to the task.

Well, I’d say people are looking for an intelligent, articulate conservative candidate with knowledge and experience. Now let’s see if GOP Central is looking for the same thing.

That’s where it always falls down. GOP Central is the black hole.

The day before another poll had Cain at 24% and Gingrich at 4.6%.

Come Monday we will have another poll with another frontrunner.

We won’t know what’s really going on until real votes are cast. The media and these polls are attempting to influence votes. I think the people are way ahead of them. I pray the old games of getting the people to settle on the most moderate candidate a la Ford, Dole, McCain, Romney are over.

A question for the Newt-ophiles: Why does everyone seem to assume that Newt will destroy Obama in a debate?

The reason I ask is that Obama has a record of destroying his competition by changing the rules to disqualify his opponents. He did that on numerous occasions in Chicago politics.

So, is Obama even required to debate his opponent? As incumbent, I wouldn't be surprised that he would first try to change the debate rules to favor himself; and, if he couldn't get that accomplished, use that as an excuse not to debate at all. I doubt his constituency would care and all those “independents” aren't going to pay much attention until the last minute; so, they could likely be swayed by a last minute media blitz ...and it's not hard to find a wealth of negative info on Newt; the Dems probably already have an encyclopedic collection.

Day 48 Of The FReepathon
Do you Know Why?

There are loyal posters that donate every FReepathon. Some donate several times during every 'thon. But others never donate. Why?

1 My enemies haven't been zotted.
2 The owner doesn't support my candidate.
3 FR won't "upgrade" to "Like" buttons and blinky crap.
4 Someone else will donate.
5 My friend was zotted.
6 I lost my job and have no income.

Only one of those is a legitimate reason.

Support It Or Lose It

You know, this is starting to get to be a frigging embarrassment, itt’s like watching ducks on the mechanical belt at a shooting gallery, with the “republican base” on the other side of the counter.

Here comes Bachmann.... BANG... over she goes!

Now it’s Perry. PINGGGG...

And, now here’s Cain. WAANGGGGG......!

Next up: GINGRICH.....

And the Rommney campaign staffers manning the booth?

They... just ... smiling....

.... cause’ they know that with this crowd, they will be taking home the whole jar of quarters when the carnival moves on.

Polls are for followers. Learn as much as you can about the candidates, ensure that what you have “learned” is not political bull, let conservatism be your guide...and vote accordingly.

If it were that easy, we would be so conservative we would have flying cars by now.

This fight is not against rational people, act accordingly.

Let us laugh at political convention while we are its recipients, and press for reform on the battlefield more forcefully than the left does.

These polls vary so widely, I’m not placing too much credibility in them right now.

While this is terrible news, Newt's anal exam has not yet really begun and Willard's is on the horizon. Faith in America that this will turn out alright and hard work will bring us to where we need to be.

The good news is Willard is not even close way ahead of Cain, but not even close. Yes Rasmussen is more respected and probably right but his 32% and the Iowa college poll showing Newt at less than 5% say this is not over. In the meanwhile Newt is showing no buzz on face book at all. Facebook support means young energized supporters.

Let's wait and see.

In Iowa, Gingrich and Romney are seen as the most qualified to be president. Seventy-six percent (76%) say Gingrich is qualified while 71% say that of the former governor. Paul and Perry are viewed as qualified by 51%, while 47% say that of Cain and Santorum.

Ouch, hurts for my man CAIN. I have to admit, early in the RACE I thought he had his three points and "winged it". When he answered that Gun control was a state rights issues, that was a misinformed answer. But then I became impressed as he became a quick study on domestic issues and developed and defended his 9-9-9 plan. He became my man and has some of my money...

However, what has hurt him IMHO was not the allegations, but the last debate. He just hasn't been able to be a quick study on Foreign issues. Some of these issue are fairly complex... maybe he has not surrounded himself with the right people yet.. This is a two man race, Newt and Cain. Newt rise is partly due to taking from Romney. Mr. 23% can hardly afford lost support. I also think that the folks supporting the single digit candidates will migrate to CAIN... Thus 2 man race.

it looks like it is too late for Conservatives to come up with a major first tier candidate. I hope the Cain folks in Iowa continue the fight. But it looks like it will be a NEWT-MILT race with ronPaul tagging along picking up half his votes from Reagan conservatives (BARF).

THIS race started in earnest one year ago and conservatives failed so we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

I am going to support NEWT in New Hampshire. Either that, or I will catch up on my paperwork and skip the poly-tics.
