Is the media afraid of Obama?View Larger
By Neal Boortz
Alan West says that the media needs to stop being afraid of standing up to Obama. Im thinking that Col. West has this wrong.
There are two dynamics going on here. One is that elements of the DC and NYC press corps (pronounced corpse) are in love with Obama, not afraid of him. Dont forget that Evan Thomas of Newsweek referred to Herr Ruler as sort of a God. Remember also Terry Moran of ABC news who told us that Obama is so hugely wonderful and amazing that he actually had to step down to the White House.
But theres another element to the media those who were once in love with Obama, but who have now reluctantly come to the realization that he simply was not qualified for the job and that his three years of rule have been a miserable failure. These people the ones who realize that their love was misplaced have a dilemma. On the one hand, they can be honest about their change of heart and risk ostracism by their media colleagues; or on the other hand they can just go along with the game and keep their social and professional life free of turmoil. Think about your own sense of belonging and comradeship with your professional and social colleagues. Do you think these journalists would be willing to forego all of that by being completely honest about the failure that is Barack Obama? Obama is going to be gone in either one or five years. You will be working in your field for many years after that. Why risk losing your professional standing by going against the grain? If you think Im wrong here, try talking to some journalists who stray from their formal liberal path. Things often dont go smoothly for them. Media types who cross from the right to the left are welcomed with open arms. Cross from the left to the right and you become a non-entity.
So even though Obama has proven to be a failure even though he has broken many media hearts -- the ObamaMedia continues to go easy on him .. because somehow his failure is tied to their own. Not only do they have the traditional liberal line to walk, they also realize that they are largely responsible for visiting this disaster on America. They are the ones that anointed him. For him to fail would mean the media anointed a failure, and that would be tough for their egos to swallow.
We are fully aware of how ruthless the media can be. The fact is that the media doesnt even have to go after Obama. Their complacency in not reporting or investigating is enough. Here are two prime examples of how the ObamaMedia has treated Barack Obama compared to Herman Cain:
NBC Hypes Cain's Pause on Libya as 'Disqualifying Moment,' Dismisses Obama's 'Lazy' Remark
The media doesnt need to stand up to Obama. All they need to do is ignore him and pretend that they had nothing to do with this mess. Meanwhile they will hammer the Republicans and allow them to hang themselves. Thats journalism 2011!
Or you can get raw with these strings. Either way, the violin is sweet yet lethal.
Do it!
“Fear” - “Sycophantic Ideological Deification”? What’s in a word? It’s all the same result.
Hell, many are clearly disgusted with him.
He's simply the best means available to them for implementing their leftist agenda. Thats why he can count on their full throated support as the nation collapses around him.
I wouldn’t characterize the “media” as “afraid” of Obama... actually I’d term it “adoring” or “fawning.”
LLS
Both afraid of him and supportive of his agenda and more importantly the Democrat Party. The MSM is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party.
The MSM sold itself to the enemies of the United States long ago.
What we saw during the last Presidential election, and what we are seeing now in the ongoing and blind MSM love affair with “O” is more of their selfish agenda and reckless disregard for American sovereignty, security and prosperity!
Haven’t seen that one before...nice. Real nice.
Of course they’re afraid of Obama. You fear rabid animals, or you’re kinda stupid.
