That collapse is the very goal of the leftists; that is, destabilization of our economy and our political system. They are dedicated and have a plan and assets in place to effectively pursue their objectives. If re-elected, there is no question who will have the most firearms (munitions, the means for crowd-control, food distribution systems, etc).
If one looks at the record commencing in the mid-60s and the progress they have made in almost every sector of our society and our government there is little basis for optimism.
My prediction is we very well may see unusual events of historical proportions play out that will affect the outcome of the next election. The menu includes wide-spread civil unrest, emergency suspensions and decrees, interruption of traditional systems, the perfection of voter fraud via voting machines and disruptions at the polls, to name just a few and you can certainly add to the list. For them, it will be game time.
If one regards those concerns as being on a par with other recent public scares that failed to bear fruit, look at what is happening today. It is probably no coincidence that the Occupy effort is conducted in the Sept/Oct/November time frame, as in prep for a Sept/Oct/Nov 2012 exercise. It is telling that the Executive branch of our government is willing to support such vague and disruptive demonstrations; such demonstrations are no doubt viewed as an essential part of the remaking process.
Whether we have proper elections in 2012 will likely depend on whether our political reps recognize what is happening to our nation and are able to gin up the courage to face the threat.
I do see Obama’s Occupy movement as waiting in the wings to take advantage of that destabilization.
