Prepare Yourself for Obama's Second Term (Maybe we should fear a repeat of 1996...)
American Thinker ^ | 11/18/2011 | Michael Filozof

For some time now, many conservatives have thought that President Obama is the Second Coming of Jimmy Carter. They think that chronic 9% unemployment, creeping inflation, and a foreign policy of self-abasement and weakness will doom Obama to a single term, and that he'll slink off with his tail between his legs in disgrace, just like Carter did after 1980.

Maybe they should be thinking about the election of 1996 instead.

Does anyone remember the disaster that was Bill Clinton's first term? The first attempt to put gays in the military, the first attack on the World Trade Center by Muslim fanatics, and the "Assault Weapons" Ban? The proposal to raise taxes, increase spending, and downsize the military? Hillary arrogantly proclaiming that she was no little Tammy Wynette standing by her man and baking cookies? That she would revamp the entire health care system, by herself, in secret, without congressional input? Does anyone remember the Waco debacle, which led directly to the Oklahoma City bombing, and Clinton's allegation that it was the fault of talk radio? Does anyone remember the landslide Republican victory in the House in 1994, breaking forty straight years of Democratic control -- a massive rebuke of the Clinton administration?

And yet...Clinton got re-elected in 1996. He didn't just squeak by, either -- he won a crushing 379-159 victory in the Electoral College and beat the Republican ticket by eight and a half percent in the popular vote.

Conservatives were in shock. How could this happen? Answer: after the 1994 conservative revolution in the midterm elections, the Republican 1996 presidential campaign turned into the Revenge of the Flaming Moderates. The Republican primaries featured banal, milquetoast candidates like Lamar Alexander (whose campaign strategy was to don a flannel shirt and stand in front of a sign ...

Newt or Romney will be the RINO Bob “Let’s Make A Deal” Dole of 2012!

I think it would be funny to just let the rope go (tug of rope contest) and let the Dems just fall on their butts. As the economy worsens and worsens those that have been on the Hopium too long will realize the Dems want to destroy it.

Under the right conditions, allowing a collapse to happen under a re-elected Obama just might save the country by waking up millions. However, the suffering in America would be great. You KNOW that the cities will become killing fields once the feral jackals' EBT cards no longer work.

Are you better off today than you were in 1996? That question alone destroys the premise of this marxist hit piece. Now if he had said obama will win if romney is nominated... he would be correct in his article... but he didn't and romney hasn't won anything... yet.

IF that came to pass... many of us will work on a third party challenge... it will not matter... if romney is nominated... obama will win. Might as well kill off the republican brand to rebuild it for 2016.

Exactly...I’m hoping Scott Walker can weather the storm in Wisconsin, because if he prevails, he’s my top choice.

I’m watching the GOP/RNC very closely to see if they have Walker’s back.

The OKC bombing was used to shut people up about Waco.

More and more people simply weren't buying the official story. People were demanding a more thorough investigation as the official story began falling apart.

After the OKC bombing anyone that mentioned Waco was automatically called a right wing extremist and a supporter of Tim McVeigh. If you disagreed with Clinton you were labeled a Tim McVeigh wannabee. The hearings on Waco were turned into a joke.

Had they not been able to suppress the truth about Waco, Clinton would have been toast.

i been saying obama would be re-elected all along. The Republican Party, the main stream media, and the Democrat Party all want it to happen. The one Republican that could have beat him was run out by the Republicans. When Cain looked promising, he was neutralized. By hook or crook, the Republican nominee after the convention will be either be Rommnry or Mr. Global warming himself, a/k/a nancy Pelosi, a/k/a Newt Gingrich. When that happens, obamawill need one less vote to be elected in 2012 than he needed in 2008.

That’s a guarantee.

And, there’s a way to combat it.

Make sure it’s commonly known that that’s how politics is done, “the Chicago Way”, with historical incidents of this happening throughout 0bama’s career.

Then, when they do it, just say, “I told you this was how he operates”.

” ... a fart in the wind who can take any position from one end of the political spectrum to the other on most issues ... “

That pretty much the definition of a moderate/independent. They see themselves as enlightened, when in reality, they have a weak compass.

And it wouldn’t surprise me if Romney attracted them, he’s one of them. But the White Hut is loaded and ready for Romney. Romneycare, flip flops and Bain capital will be the subject matter on Pravda the day Romney is nominated, if that were to happen.

I think Gingrich is our best chance, but it’s not looking good at this moment.

…allowing a collapse to happen under a re-elected Obama just might save the country by waking up millions. And those with the guns will be doing a lot of feral jackal control!

That collapse is the very goal of the leftists; that is, destabilization of our economy and our political system. “They” are dedicated and have a plan and assets in place to effectively pursue their objectives. If re-elected, there is no question who will have the most firearms (munitions, the means for crowd-control, food distribution systems, etc).

If one looks at the record commencing in the mid-60’s and the progress they have made in almost every sector of our society and our government there is little basis for optimism.

My prediction is we very well may see unusual events of historical proportions play out that will affect the outcome of the next election. The menu includes wide-spread civil unrest, emergency suspensions and decrees, interruption of traditional systems, the perfection of voter fraud via voting machines and disruptions at the polls, to name just a few and you can certainly add to the list. For them, it will be game time.

If one regards those concerns as being on a par with other recent public “scares” that failed to bear fruit, look at what is happening today. It is probably no coincidence that the Occupy effort is conducted in the Sept/Oct/November time frame, as in prep for a Sept/Oct/Nov 2012 exercise. It is telling that the Executive branch of our government is willing to support such vague and disruptive demonstrations; such demonstrations are no doubt viewed as an essential part of the “remaking” process.

Whether we have proper elections in 2012 will likely depend on whether our political reps recognize what is happening to our nation and are able to gin up the courage to face the threat.

The economy was starting to boom in ‘96. If he had these economic numbers Clinton would have lost to Dole, incredible as that sounds.

A second obama term means open revolt, secession, blood on the streets and a coup d’etat with obama’s and all the other fascist dims heads on a pike. No more playing nice because we will have the law of the jungle.
