I can think of three old Alabama QBs who wouldn't be anywhere near that list: Bart Starr, Joe Namath and Snake Stabler.

And yet the winningest Bama QB of all time, Jay Barker, did nothing in the NFL.

The joy of watching St. Timothy The Inaccurate is that he is a perfect messenger for God’s Word...not that Tebow is great. For 3-1/2 quarters, he’s terrible. But he wins in the end and gives thanks to God for the victory. That’s a lesson for all of us.

God continually delights in making man’s wisdom look foolish so that man will learn to live by faith in God and trust in God to deliver the victory, regardless how improbable it looks to the rest of us.

If Tebow were 27-for-30 passing with 400 yards, we would marvel at his skill. Instead, we marvel at his “luck”. Meanwhile, God laughs and says “what do you mean, luck?”. Tebow isn’t allowed to get a big ego because even he knows he’s a terrible quarterback. But Tebow has faith and that faith allows him to be used by God to win games in the end and confound his critics who must get even angrier with every Broncos win.

Barker was an oddity who turned out to be an outstanding college QB. But his first couple of years as the starter he could barely throw a pass. Still Alabama won a national championship in '92 with a great defense and a QB who basically handed the ball off to the running backs.

His passing improved greatly his junior and senior seasons until he ran up some good stats. I think he was a four year starter who had immense OJT because there was no hot shot QB on the roster, and he made few mistakes and Gene Stallings just trusted Barker.
