Even Leftist Pollsters Can't Hide the Conservative Majority

The November 2011 Battleground Poll(PDF) shows a profound...

--snip--

Surely these contorted questions show that this poll does not tilt towards conservatives and, if anything, leans to the left.  Yet this Battleground Poll, like all the dozens over the last decade, still provides resilient proof of a conservative supermajority in America in the answer to two polling questions.

The first is ideological, and the second is religious.  In the last decade, there have been more than twenty of these polls, each conducted separately and each asking, in Question D3, for respondents to identify their own ideology.  In November 2011, one year before Obama faces voters for reelection, 20% of Americans describe themselves as "very conservative," 41% of Americans describe themselves as "somewhat conservative," 25% of Americans describe themselves as "somewhat liberal," 9% of Americans describe themselves as "very liberal," a whopping 2% of Americans call themselves "moderate," and 3% are "unsure / don't know."   Like past Battleground Polls, the November poll shows conservatives as about 60% of all Americans, even when moderates and "don't know" are included.

This profound conservatism also shows up in Question D11: 50% of Americans go to church or synagogue at least once a week, and 69% of Americans attend services several times a month, while only 2% of Americans never attend church or synagogue services.  This fits in with a March Gallup poll that showed that 92% of Americans believe in God, while only 7% do not.  Baylor University has conducted similar polls which show that only 10.8% of Americans are not affiliated with a church or synagogue.  Moreover, the Baylor poll shows that conservatives are much more devout than liberals.  For example, 81.1% of conservatives believe that "there is ultimate truth," while only 52.2% of liberals believe that statement...

Rush is right. We are the center. We don't need to move anywhere, much less to the left.

Those who are not any sort of conservative agrees fairly well with Obama's approval ratings!

This also makes suspect the estimates of moderates from exit polls in 2006 - 47 percent, 2008 - 44 percent, and 2010 - 38 percent. IMHO, there are large numbers of both conservatives and progressives/liberals/statists/collectivists who either believe they are or want to masquerade as moderates.

P.S. From the last link: "http://www.cbsnews.com/election2010/exit.shtml?state=US&jurisdiction=0&race=H" In the House vote with a sample size of 17,504, 35 percent thought of themselves as Republicans, 35 percent thought of themselves as Democrats, and 29 percent thought of themselves as Independents.

Sadly, history is also right. A determined and well-organized minority can hijack a culture or nation. Simple because the left is a minority doesn’t mean it can’t do enormous damage to the whole.

Absolutely right. There is an old saying that the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing people he didn't exist. The greatest trick liberals have pulled is convincing us WE don't exist. We do. We outnumber them by orders of magnitude. And it's time we stopped letting a handful of perverts and malcontents push us around.

The 2nd most common trick of the devil is to convince us that he's one of us and is not here to do us any harm. .
Read Post # 6 ( Chris Matthews moves to the middle in his new book ) .
The bible tells us that the devil comes as a angle of light, in other words ? he would come as some beautiful being, full of charisma, charming, delightful at first, and then once he's got you hooked , then he's got you.
How else would the left manage to infiltrate our side us less they come as one of us ? i.e. RINOS.
The bible also tells us that we would know them by their fruits.

"If only the spaghetti-spined RINOs in Congress would realize this fact!!!!!!"

It's the easily led, self-centered, spineless, sheep, who for the most part don't even bother to vote that put those RINOs in office and worse yet, put fascist democrats in even more often. And they've given those fascist democrats majority control of Congress for the past seventy years. So many "Conservative" sheep sit on the sidelines and complain without even voting that it's a minor miracle you can even get RINOs elected in most places. For seventy years the "Conservative majority" has routinely elected fascists to Congress and only elected Republican presidents when their middle class lifestyle was disrupted and they wanted to "send a message" to their fascist democrat sugar daddies.

The problem isn't RINOs in Congress, it's lazy sheep that say they're Conservative right up until it's time to go to the polls. Then they either stay home and bitch or go vote for "their" democrat because he's OK and brings home the bacon. Once the 17th Amendment was passed, it was only a matter of time until a dedicated group who owed their allegiance to their party rather than to the nation would dominate to the degree the fascists have.

The Republican and Conservative leadership is a perfect reflection of the makeup of Conservatives in this country. A relatively people who are patriots, some brave, some brilliant, and a whole lot of others who go along to get along and are really only Conservative as long as it's painless. No matter what any poll says, for the past seventy years the "Conservative Majority" has cared more about their own wallets and not rocking the boat than about keeping the Republic.

JMHO

...one year before Obama faces voters for reelection, 20% of Americans describe themselves as "very conservative," 41% of Americans describe themselves as "somewhat conservative,"...if only they were smart enough to understand that they have to go to the polls and vote in their own best interests every chance they get, even though the choice they have isn't exactly what they want every time......

The problem with counting “Conservatives” is that people steal that word whenever it is convenient for them.

Morley Safer (60 Minutes) describes himself as a Conservative.

His first example?

He wouldn't allow his daughter's boyfriend to spend the night in her bedroom.

Andy Rooney - a self-described atheist who never voted for a Republican president - called himself a Conservative.

Nina Totenberg (NPR) described herself as Conservative.

Her first example?

She burst into the office of a colleague and demanded he marry his pregnant girlfriend.

Hispanic Americans overwhelmingly describe themselves as Conservatives.

Yet, excluding Cubans, Hispanics routinely vote 70% for the Democratic Party.

In California, Hispanics have the same incarceration rate and the same out-of-wedlock birth rate as Black Americans.

With “Conservative” friends like that, who needs RINO’s?

Many comments here suggest that Conservatives stay home and don't vote.

Wrong.

White Conservatives have the best participation rate in six of the last eight presidential elections, and the second best participation rate in the other two elections.

If Blacks, Hispanics, and new immigrant citizens ever vote at the same rate Conservatives do, the Democratic Party will take PERMANENT control of Congress and the White House.

“True” Conservatives are a slight minority in the USA, and our numbers are slowly moving down.

European Socialists are a slight majority in the USA, and their numbers, and their voting rate, are slowly moving up.

A determined and well-organized minority did hijack a culture or nation

It was done by taking over all institutions, including the church governance
