Hume is basically saying, regarding Gingrich's recent rise to the top, that the GOP are so desperate for ABR [Anyone But Romney], that they promoting anyone and everyone. Trouble is, those n00be #1’s cannot sustain their momentum.

Panel is hitting Gingrich on his healthcare flipflop — was for mandates before he was against them.

Kristol — the rise of Gingrich is due to nostalgia over Newt's years working behind the scenes [sometimes on the wrong side, but ...].

Williams — Gingrich is like a balloon — that could nick a limb at any time and burst. [lol]

As Wallace said at the opening of the Panel: It's bash Gingrich this morning.

Morning AB, All,

As always, thank you AB for doing this thread. Let me take this moment to wish you and all commenters on this thread a Happy Thanksgiving, Bless you and your family.

I;m a bit bummed out today. For last night, the Bishop came and this always is excitement. He came to bless the renovations on our church for Catholics, Bless them all, will bless anything standing still. Or anything moving, for that matter. One of my fave Catholic events down here in the swamps of Delaware is what they call the blessing of the Bay. Hand to God, they all go up by the seashore and the priests puts holy water into the Bay. I must smile. For God made the Bay, right?

Our choir sang and there was a reception in the Parish Life Center After. I chanced to see a fellow that I knew in the Finance Council so I asked how he was doing, how were the cataracts of my last memory of him? He told me a story about the retina detaching from something in his eye which made me gasp but it’s nothing, really, he said, you get used to spots in front of your eyeballs.

The conversation continues and I discover he was once a councilman up in NewCastle county, he’s a dug-in Democrat, and as these things go so they went.

“Who do you think’s going to win that awful GOP primary,” he said, “not Cain, surely not Cain. Wonder when the other shoe’s going to drop on him.”

I did defend Cain, asking how on earth this man only harrassed women in one city out of all in which he lived.

I also said the obvious, that Obama was going to get beat like a rented mule. “So you don’t want health care?” he said.

Heh. I launched into a rant that the crap that Democratic congress pulled on the American people was hardly any kind of health care system that anybody likes or wants, was he nuts out touting that as some kind of achievement?

Well this fellow, a handsome guy who did quite enjoy conversing with me I say with no modesty because a)well come on, I’ve been known to conjugate a verb with a noun and I do, ahem, know politics, and b)again with no modesty and I am no spring chicken, but I looked quite good last night what with the Bishop and my hair and face made up, wearing a fetching outfit of a black skirt, white blouse, a black jacket and a red festive type vest with decorative black scroll that even my husband remarked on how good I look. Heh.

So it went on for an hour but you know, I come home sort of despondent. It’s a bummer speaking to people like this because I admit, FreeRepublic, hell even living in Sussex county (where this fellow does live now and he’s taking chances talking like this)tends to insulate one from those who either willingly, or in this case of this man who is no dummy, with choice, do not have a clue. In fact, in due course a few people floated over and joined the conversation as it is an election year and this IS Sussex county.

Innocent flirtation notwithstanding, it bothers me. “The only guy you have worthwhile,” he says, stopping to ponder but I knew what he would soon say, “maybe Romney, but he’s a flip-flopper”. Heh, even the libs call Romney a flip flopper. “Or maybe,” he continues to my artfully made-up rolling eyes, “Huntsman.”

Insert guffaw here.

There was lots more to this conversation but believe that I knew more than him. This is a fellow who, I suspect, was used to talking down his debaters but this was ME who he was taking on. I also suspect he wanted to keep me at his side as I looked very nice, insert wink here.

Anyway, it bums me. In my FreeRepublic, Sussex county insular world, at times I lose perspective. These people are out there, ladies and gems, and they are perfectly happy to vote to destroy our country.

This gentleman was once a bigwig in a union so there you have it.

I’m done...moving on. Don’t want to bum y’all out too much.

Still got those infernal A/C machines whirring only hours before Thanksgiving!

Yeah, that's just wrong.

How you gonna have frost on the pumpkins, a landscape of autumn colors and fallen leaves, the smell of wood smoke (the sound of chain saws), a nice warm cup of mulled cider?

Of course I am thankful that we aren't buried in snow....yet.

Williams — Gingrich is like a balloon

Yeah, I noticed from his walk-arounds in Iowa, he did seem to be packing some serious lard.

my 2 cents; No way will the Supercomittee come to agreement. Quite clear per Kerry, Kyle on MTP. So.....

Defense gets cut. We're close enough now that we live with it until we elect a ton more T-Partiers and seriously start to rebuild defense and rejigger the rest. Cut, cap, balance, etc.

Congress --particularly the Senate-- is the answer, and it won't make a damn bit of difference which Pubbie is in the White House if conservatives lead congress.

Newt, Mitt, Perry, Paul....each tends to go off the reservation at times. Mitt on big government, Perry on immigration, Paul on foreign affairs/national defense, and Newt on....well you can never be sure where Newt will go, but the point is our congress must not let them go off the rails.

I left Herman off the list. He’s still at the top of my list, for the record.

Panel basically concludes that the Super Committee is a grand failure.

==

Gotta give Gingrich credit for his assessment of the Super Committee: The dumbest idea to come out of Capitol Hill in a long time.

Maybe in January they can try a Super Super Committee or, like McConnell did with the debt ceiling, just give the power for the budget to the prez. [/s]

==

Wallace and Williams argue over the value of #Occupy. Williams thinks it is good; Wallace thinks it is sinking in influence because of the recent violence.

To: ROCKLOBSTER; Morgan in Denver

My buddy Morgan has promised to hijack a 747 fill it with snow from Denver and land it in Marathon general the 24th. We are eagerly awaiting to see if that all comes true.

Absolutely, rodguy. We’ve gotta start somewhere, sometime.

Just making a definitive start to the drilling thing will hearten the populace, create jobs and give much deserved alarm to our middle eastern ‘friends.’

Try living in the Peoples Republic of Portland. Yesterday we went out knocking doors for the special election for congressman Wu’s spot. We were in the most left part of our county and knocked doors in an apt complex. We ran into a couple of Repubs who were so glad to see us, but sadly lots of Dems.

One of the things we did see was lots of Dems who are saying they hate both Parties, which tells me they are getting fed up with theirs and just blame both. We did find one Dem who is not voting for BHO again.

Pray for America

Looking to Congress for leadership will not work.

As we saw in the Bush years Congress will follow where a President of their party leads on about 80% of the issues.

The Presidency, not the Congress, is where you get the leadership

hijack a 747 fill it with snow from Denver...

That sounds like an awful lot of work and expense.

It'd be a lot easier to fly you up to Manchester for a traditional Thanksgiving day (that couldn't be beat) and have you back home by bedtime.

Yep, that’s the way it’s always been, and it’s been devastating.....but ‘10 mid-terms were not normal. Another tsunami like that and we can lead. Critical that we do, absent another Ronald Reagan.

For some reason, it’s nearly always warm on Thanksgiving here, although I do remember one ice storm Thanksgiving.

Our leaves haven’t even fallen yet, it’s been such a warm fall. But it changes on a dime, freezing yesterday, AC on today. (Dallas area)

What the H does he mean, YOU are going to fail. We know who’s failing.

What happens if the government shuts down? Will we miss it?

Our last best chance at solving our exploding government debt crisis was lost a few months back when The Stupid Party caved in to the Evil Party. Instead if holding firm on the debt ceiling (a straightforward and reasonable course of action), they instead agreed to a few cosmetic cuts and the sham of forming this wholly unAmerican Politburo, er, Super Committee.

It was always a trap. We saw it and screamed bloody murder about that wretched deal back then. We saw this sneaky Washingtonian insider game would eventually hold Defense and Medicare hostage unless the Stupid Party agreed to the massive tax increases and increased spending schemes of the Evil Party. It was set up specifically and openly to do that and it was obvious to anybody paying attention and with a functioning brain.

We no longer have leaders, patriots, and "public servants" running things in Washington. Instead, we have openly corrupt manipulators like Kerry, Murray, Frank, Obama, and hosts of other locusts who steal from us and destroy our freedoms so they and their connected friends can take over everything and micromanage our lives. The weak and craven like Boehner and McConnell are really in on the deal because they enable the destruction and then go play golf and schmooze with their good friends - our Constitution's mortal enemies.

If we can't stop this juggernaut in 2012 I fear we will soon wind up being quickly destroyed. America as we know it will rapidly collapse and be picked over by the world vultures and our own wicked tyrants.

Forget that mantra about "stealing from our grandchildren". It is we who will have everything we possess stolen and then be marched into the gulags.
