George Will really doesn’t like Newt Gingrich. On the This Week round table this morning, Will began his comments on Gingrich, now a frontrunner, by stating that his candidate “embodies everything disagreeable about modern Washington,” going on to laugh at the idea that Gingrich was hired by Freddie Mac as a “historian,” and, as a final blow, speaking more glowingly of even Rep. Ron Paul than of Gingrich.

Actually this is good news for Newt. If George Will hates him he must be doing something right.
Will and Newt are both posers.
Neither is really conservative.
Both are little more than opportunist insiders.

I agree with that assessment. If you recall, Will went out of his way not to support Reagan in ‘80 until the last minute. He was a Howard Baker guy for crying out loud.

A lot of the posters here don’t seem to want to win this election, either.
Did you read what he said about Newt? Do you have a response? Will gave a devastating, and wholly accurate, rendition of Newt’s big government record. As to historian, well I suppose....a “historian” who couldn’t get tenure at a third rate college.
And Will's critique of Newt's big government record (support for ethanol subsidies, etc.) is wrong because.....?

Gingrich worked early on in academia, as an assistant professor of history and geography at West Georgia College....years later, in 1993, he taught a class, Renewing American Civilization, at Kennesaw State College in Georgia.[18]
Yep - obviously no historian...
