I grew up in the South, as a Southern Baptist, so I used to hearing how I’m going to burn in hell. It doesn’t phase me in the least, and if it bothers anyone else they should probably get a hobby.
A family of deeply disturbed nutcases. Every one hates them and they have made no converts.
I really wish they wouldn’t call themselves Baptists. It gives us all a bad name. Most Baptist churches aren’t anything like Westboro.
Sounds like the KC Star hates God’s word rather intensely.
Megan is largely correct. The US is in deep doo-doo spiritually.
These folks preach hate and not the love of God.
True religion aims to not to scare us but to teach us to become something more than ourselves and to serve others and to serve God and to live a life that is an example to those around us.
How many member of the church are not members of the clan? Time will catch up to them in short order.
Since she could walk, Megan was taught that the world beyond the familys backyard was an inherently evil place.
She has no real friends. Few acquaintances
I don't know if it's legal or not but she needs to be kidnapped and "deprogrammed" like we read about years ago of people caught up in cults........
I can’t see how what Fred Phelps has done to children is any better than what Jerry Sandusky has allegedly done.
“Sounds like the KC Star hates Gods word rather intensely.”
It’s Westboro that hates God’s word.
Its an in-bred family cult. They’re the spawn of all that’s wrong with the world.
BTW, in the Phelp’s world, God hates you too.
That "church" has nothing to do with God. As a freeper, you can't really be that obtuse about the Westboro creeps, can you?
The KC Star is no doubt a leftwing, anti-Christian rag, but they cannot defile the Word of God as the Phelps family has done by taking His Word and His Name in vain. Their bastardization of Scripture and audacity in calling their blood family a “Church” of any denomination to achieve their money grubbing and publicity seeking goals is nothing any Christian should defend.
The cultural and spiritual condition of the US is not advanced in any meaningful way, not one iota, by the Phelps tribe and their “Westboro Baptist Church.”
This Westboro group is as far removed from Christianity as the Nazis are from American style conservatism.
They advance the anti-Christ leftist agenda and do the work of God’s enemy.
Megan’s testimony, as the paper exposed it is pure Bible.
I’m going only by what was in the article.
If you condemn what Megan is said to have stated, you condemn God’s word.
I wasn’t there, just taking the article as written.
When old man Phelps kicks it, I wonder if they’ll picket themselves.
Someday this bunch of loons is going to piss off the wrong grieving father of some poor kid who gave his life following the orders of his nation and he is going to mow them down like a scythe through new hay.
