LA Mayor Gives Occupy LA 10,000 Square Feet of Office Space & Farmland for $1-a-Year

It was just last week that an #Occupy LA protester was arrested for masturbating on the steps of City Hall. Now the squatters are getting their own private office building.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has decided to award the lawlessness, lewd acts, shoplifting and drug use of the Occupy LA squatters. He just offered the hooligans 10,000 square feet of downtown office space and farmland for $1-a-year. The LA Times reported:

Los Angeles officials have offered Occupy L.A. protesters a package of incentives that includes downtown office space and farmland in an attempt to persuade them to abandon their camp outside of City Hall, according to several demonstrators who have been in negotiations with the city.

The details of the proposal were revealed Monday during the demonstration’s nightly general assembly meeting by Jim Lafferty, an attorney with the National Lawyers Guild who has been advocating on behalf of the protest since it began seven weeks ago.

Lafferty said city officials have offered protesters a $1-a-year lease on a 10,000-square-foot office space near City Hall. He said officials also promised land elsewhere for protesters who wish to farm, as well as additional housing for the contingent of homeless people who joined the camp.

A spokesman for the mayor would not comment on the proposal, saying only: “We are in negotiations with organizers of Occupy L.A.”

More proof our ‘leaders’ are working against freedom and democracy.

Hmmm, total incompetence, inability to lead, and lack of anything approaching an idea.

Must be a dim-bulb-crat...afraid to alienate the aliens, b*stards, Hollywierd bimbos and bimboys, and the rest of his loathful constituency.

WHAT???

I can’t believe what I just read. Isn’t this just like negotiating with terrorists? What’s wrong with these people (and I’m not talking about the occupiers this time).

LA can do this right now because their economy is strong. But if things get tight, this could backfire.

HAHAHAHA! Just kidding. :-D

They’re idiots, in a “Chris Matthews sort of way”*.

*Sincerely stupid liberals. They really do believe in a utopian fantasy with as much religious zeal as Christians believe in the atoning blood of Christ. But the former worship a false god that will, and in many cases, already has, let them down.

I have argued with hippie commies that America is great. A group of their hippie commie brethern could join funds and buy a farm and live out their hippie commie utopian dream.
More power to you.
However, it is not for government (other people’s tax payer money) to support some brain dead hippie commie utopian fantasy.

The local Tea Party and other organizations should ask for the same treatment.

It would be illegal for governments to treat groups differently based on the views they support.

Well, the city better be careful.
They must offer the same to all others who wish to exercise 1st Amendment rights or else they would be violating that Amendment and equal protection provisions of the Constitution as amended.

...so who is going to pay to insure this property? Its just a matter of time before someone gets injured, raped, murdered with this crowd, and then ba-bam...lawsuit against the city for facilitating this set up in the first place.

That $1 better include utilities, maid service, trash pickup, etc. And the farm? I presume that’s going to be a real-life Animal Farm? I can see the accelerated chaos now.

Why not? Didn’t I just read that Obama pardoned 5 hemp farmers/dealers? I guess now he will get a lifetime supply for free!!

Tea party asks for the same thing and when they are refused let the tea party sue and then use that money to go against this buffoon.

Also it would close down this taxpayers nightmare.

Its all part of the plan. You have to have the protestors so you can break the system and rebuild it.
