If you’ve been here 25 years and you got three kids and two grand kids, you’ve been paying taxes and obeying the law...

Ok? Somehow I have a problem understanding what the “obeying the law” statement is.

Silly me, I thought obeying the law was obeying the law...maybe I’ve been wrong all of my life.

Let’s see here....if I understand:

They break the law to come over here in the first place.

They get on the welfare rolls and cheat the tax paying citizen.

They breed like rats since they don’t have to pay for their free babies and then get free everything else illegally by cheating the system.

They falsify SS cards and numbers.

They refuse to even attempt to assimilate into our society and expect us to change our governmental forms and rules to Spanish so they can read them.

They drive without a valid driver’s license and refuse to buy liability insurance.

A majority of them do not pay income taxes since most money is “under the table” and those who do have fake stolen SS numbers.

And the list goes on and on and on.

So, Newt, please explain the original statement above for I can’t no matter how hard I try.

Any response to the Latin pres which I have translated and reposted, and how it is perceived as AMNESTY, which in and of itself will have a magnet effect upon more unwanted incursions.

Deportation of criminals and gang members should be efficient and fast.

We must end the practice of “catch and release,” under which dangerous criminals here illegally are caught by law enforcement, but then quickly returned to society.

When someone is here illegally and is dangerous, there should be expedited procedures to remove them from the United States as rapidly as possible.

The current system is so cumbersome and time-consuming that many arrested non-citizens are released back into society and simply break their word and disappear. This is wrong and dangerous.
Newt Gingrich

Shoot self in foot during Primaries. Why would a serious candidate talk like this during GOP Primaries?

We need a system that enforces the rule of law, ensures that those who broke the law pay a stiff penalty, but also acknowledges that it is neither optimal nor feasible nor humane to deport every single illegal immigrant. We need a path to legality, but not citizenship, for some of these individuals who have deep ties to America, including family, church and community ties. We also need a path to swift but dignified repatriation for those who are transient and have no roots in America. Newt Gingrich is 100% right!!! grasp the facts and what he said not the media hype We need a process that can distinguish at the human level. Congress must charge the Department of Justice to establish a “citizens’ review” process for those here outside the law. It would establish committees to process these cases in individual communities and determine who will continue on this path to legality, and who will be sent home. Congress must define understandable, clear, objective legal standards that will be applied equally during this process. While this process is ongoing, those here outside the law will be granted Temporary Legal Status for a certain, limited period of time until all have had the opportunity to apply and appear in front of committees. Applicants must first pass a criminal background check, and then the local committees will assess applications based on family and community ties, and ability to support oneself via employment without the assistance of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other entitlement programs. The government will rigorously enforce a requirement that all individuals seeking this path to legality must be able to prove that they can independently pay for private health insurance. If an individual cannot prove this, they will lose the ability to stay in the United States. Furthermore, proficiency in English within a certain number of years, similar to the requirement for naturalization, will be required for anyone who seeks continued legal status in the United States. Once an applicant has been granted the right to obtain legal status, he or she will have to pay a penalty of at least $5,000. Moving forward, those who receive this status will have to prove on a regular basis that they can support themselves without entitlement programs and pay for health insurance or else risk the ability to stay in the United States.

Living on a farm, I recognize the smell of bovine scatology. You have it yet clinging to your person. Your invitations to become the party of ‘toss all the illegals out regardless’ is what has the smell of dog poo. The DNC has told Hispanics/Latinos that the Republicans will treat the illegal immigrant —regardless of any circumstances or how long in America with a History of peaceful, productive life— the way Hitler treat the Jews, with cattle cars and a herding mentality. Congratulations, poster, you are working to make that the reality. How special

So let me get this straight? In a pathetic effort to support Gingrich’s amnesty position you propose dramatic government expansion and intrusion into our lives?

Gingrich supporters are just statist RINOs.

Thanks for the post..............seems to many only read a head line and JUMP........At the debate I heard Newt talk about this issue. If you take one line, you could destroy him but when in the whole comment...I do not know why the right is eating their own.
He is for sending many back, he is for cutting off all “handouts”..............
My message to conservatives, KNOCK IT OFF, the left loves this........Do you really want Obama for another four years?

Here's one that’ll get’cha.

Language in the last immigration reform bill would allow illegals (legal if given amnesty) the opportunity to bring up to four relatives to the U.S.

The majority of illegals live on wages considered to be below the poverty line. Given amnesty, they would have the right to file for the “Earned Income Tax Credit”.

This would amount to a huge tax payer funded government handout of billions of dollars....even if they've paid zero in taxes.

The open borders crowd (republican and democrat) have essentially won the battle to integrate societies.

With up to 20 million illegals in this country along with millions of legal immigrants from Mexico and South America, the New World Order marches on.

Borders? Language? Culture?

He should have said “otherwise law-abiding.” But it is obvious to most, that he was not talking about overlooking identity theft, tax evasion, driving without a license, or such other offenses as you cited.

Contrary to your implication, Newt stated clearly that he is in favor of English as the official language, and even went so far as to endorse teaching history and making school children aware of the Declaration of Independence.

As for “they breed like rats,” you ought to be ashamed.

You are witnessing a frenzied hate-fest. Truth nor reason have any place in this planned irrationality. The DNC has succeeded in mischaracterizing the issues, again, with the expert help of freepers who hate Hispanics for being poor and daring to illegally immigrate to America two deacdes ago. So now one of the most eggregious humanitarian insults is to play out toward Latinos and Hispanics if the hate mongers have their way. What a spectacle, complete with confalting registering presence here and citizenship conflated to mean amnesty. The specious conflating of voluntary registration for legalization rather than criminality abd absolution citizenship is the hallmark of this hate fest. Sadly, it is an act of desperation at the thought of Newt Gingrich rising in the polls which tempts some freepers to leap onto the hate train and promote the lspecious conflating and outright lies. But they’ll tell you how honest they’re posting and how they are not mongering hate, all the while unable to see and comprehend how they are spittling forth on cue what the DNC has trapped them into expressing for the world to see. What a treat at Freerepublic. How special to spittle forth unconstrained hate toward all illegal immigrants and their families, in the name of ‘protecting Free America from MS13 and the criminal of drug cartels invading from Mexico. Oh sure, they will concede, there are some few illegals who have only broken immigration law and have lived in America peacefully for a decade or more, but they do not count where the cattle cars can rid US of the criminal element. Disgusting. One begins to see these crusaders are not so much about fixing the illegal immigration problem as they are about insuring that Newt Gingrich will not be the Republican nominee. Disgusting. And quite revealing that these samehate mongers now try to include Herman Cain in their little festival. The default candidate must end up being Milt Rominy or else in the mind of some of the agitprops. The rest are merely being herded by the stealthy.

Do you or lucky lady live in any red zone shown in post #9 ?

If not, then you have no clue how illegals are infringing on our rights as American Citizens. They don't assimilate into America, in fact they want to change the way we live. They live in enclaves, many who have been here 10-25 years don't speak English, the majority are on some type of government entitlement, they manufacture SS cards, drivers license and represent the greatest percentage of arrests in any given week in our community. Under any amnesty plan they will cost the taxpayer billions of dollars more and they are set in their ways that they will not change. They have no real skills or desires to improve our Country. Most illegals see themselves as Mexicans who just happen to be lucky enough to live in the USA with all it's benefits.

>>They falsify SS cards and numbers.<<

To remain in this country illegally for twenty five years, you would almost certainly have to commit the following:

Purjury-any government document that requires a signature to affirm true and correct statements. From housing to employment, from government benefits to medical treatment.

Fraud-receiving state, federal, county, municipal assistance of any kind based on false statements or forged documents.

Forgery-government documents, falsifying signatures, utilizing legal residents to obtain documents.

Embezzalment-manipulating data contained within documents in an attempt to receive payments from organizations whether public or private.

These are state and or federal felonies. This does not even come close to accounting for the numerous class A,B,C misdemeanors committed year after year to remain in this country.

Sorry, if you are here illegally, regardless of time-frame, family, church, job, you should be held to account.

Otherwise, the rule of law means absolutely zilch!

I’m jumping on my Nimbus3000 later, for a quick zip to freedom follyland. It’s really quite close-by now that FR is infected with so many Romney and DNC stealth operatives pretending to be concerned trolls and supporters of any candidate but romney or barry. No doubt the hate mongers will pour it on now that someone is deigning to oppose their hate fest. I’m outta here. If you’re sticking around for this noobies filth like bigdirty, put your Wellies on.

If you’ve been here 25 years and you got three kids and two grandkids, you’ve been paying taxes and obeying the law, you belong to a local church, I don’t think we’re going to separate you from your family, uproot you forcefully and kick you out.”

So let me get this straight Mr. Speaker. If Juan Ortiz-Rodriguez-Sanchez was in the USA for 25 years, but illegally took welfare, illegally filled out his tax form or used a fake ID, then he needs to go back to his native counry, RAPIDO.
