Louisiana petitions to leave illegal immigrants out of 2010 census

shington, DC, United States (AHN) – The state of Louisiana petitioned the Supreme Court this week for a ruling that would halt the U.S. Census Bureau from counting illegal immigrants as residents of the United States. Louisiana is trying to regain the congressional seat it lost after the 2010 census showed a population shift toward states with the largest numbers of illegal immigrants, such as California and Texas. States are assigned seats in the U.S. House of Representatives based on their populations. The Louisiana lawsuit appears to demonstrate the extent that illegal immigration is distorting U.S. population figures to the point it affects political districting. The lawsuit also represents the first time a state has petitioned the Supreme Court directly to ask that illegal immigrants be left out of the census count. About 11 million illegal immigrants live in the United States, according to the Census Bureau. A new census is not required, merely a recalculation of 2010 population figures after discounting illegal immigrants, according to the Supreme Court petition filed by Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.

Illegals grow government and drive politics by their mere presence.

Leave them out of federal aid for schools as well. That would get the attention of local politicians.

The idea of offering a solution to established residence for those who have come here illegally and established a productive lifestyle makes sense. So does keeping in mind that there should still be a penalty paid for illegal entry.

The best suggestion I have heard is that people can register for resident status and then their manes can be put on a NO VOTE data base so they cannot become instant members of the democrat party and vote themselves gubmint handouts.

Folks need to do some frightening math.

If there are 30 million illegals in America and it takes a bit more than 660,000 people to make a congressional district, that translates into a lot of illegitimate congressional districts.

Now in California I am sure that illegals are counted per the communists Democratic Party requirement to influence the districts in their favor. Democrats bought the illegals in this State and they probably even vote.

People need to realize that their own votes are disenfranchised by counting illegals.

I have an idea - lets compromise and just count each illegal as 3/5 of a person.

Hmmm - didn’t we try that once?

I know Texans don’t like to hear it but they will be a democrat state in the future if things continue as they are now. Just look at the voting trends of counties along the border.

I’ve been saying for a long time, give them a green card, NOT a path to citizenship. I like your idea of resident status AND a no vote list. This could be as easy as the statement on the front of a green card “not to become a citizen” or a different color card. After all, on state photos IDs, there is a statement which says “this is not a driver’s license.”

Illegals should not have been counted in the census. A lot has happened in Arizona since the census was taken and many of the illegals have left the state. However, because of their presence during the Census, the redistricting fiasco is a flippin’ mess. They weren’t Americans and they weren’t Arizonans. They should not have been counted. Arizona is a conservative state. The presence of all of those illegal aliens in 2010 made it appear otherwise.

Just use similar statistical techniques the Dims were proposing for estimating the supposed uncounted illegals, and then eliminate the total estimated illegals from each state’s population figures.

The constitution says ‘enumerate’, not ‘estimate’...

Once that happens you can forget ever seeing a GOP president again. Starting an election conceding the electoral votes of NY, California AND Texas. Foggetabout it! So what's the alternative? Promaise legalization? Texas will go Democratic any way.
