There is no candidate that will make anyone 100% happy. Everyone of the these folks running has warts. But none has the warts that Obama has.

So pick your fav now and then support the nominee....

We need an updated “Bracero Program”. This was a program begun during WWII to bring workers into the country in a legal way with safeguards and supervision.

Think of a ‘green card’ which is given to many more workers. The limits on the legal entry of workers is what causes illegal emigration.

The Bracero Program was cancelled in the 60s by the Democrats in response to union complaints.

The majority of illegals are men looking for work who have families they leave at home. They don’t necessarily want to become US citizens and will return home.

I'd like to see some verifiable facts and figures regarding the crime rate among the illegals for the past several years....broken down by murder, theft, burglary, rape, assault and battery, vehicular manslaughter, etc.

I'm not holding my breath.

The option of arming oneself is going to become more and more an imperative as whole segments (mostly young males) of a lawless country continue to cross the border to dwell illegally among us.

The gun rights folks on FR are generally very responsible and vociferous. However, I've seen hardly a peep from them, actually nada, on Newt Gingrich's pathetically-mixed anti-gun voting record.

The Gun Owners of America web site recently released the Grinch's abysmal gun rights voting record properly sourced through the Congressional Record.

He always had an "A" rating from the GOA until he became Speaker of the House after the GOP "Revolution" in '94. His rating then plummeted to a "D".

Where are the voices of concern from the pro-gun rights freepers here? I don't get it.

The position of Gingrich in being pro-amnesty and yet weak on gun rights should raise the hairs on a lot of people's heads.

And don't anyone tell me he's not pro-amnesty. A stinkweed by any other name still smells as bad. To paraphrase the Good Book...."Be not deceived, we are not mocked."

No welfare period, at least for 10 years, the same as legal immigrants.

Well, like everything else that is on the books but not enforced. I was an eligibility worker for our county and actually asked about that and was waved off. Who is gonna enforce it?

Do I need to qualify my comments here? Of course, the rules need to be enforced.

Well, dumb a**, then they will all be deported for simply being here is a crime, add to that all of the document fraud they need to pull off just to stay here for 25 years or more and you have every single one of them committing felonies. Unless you are one of the idiots(including Newt)who thinks breaking our immigration laws isn't a crime.

First off, FR is not a place for people to throw out insults. We are supposed to be here as conservatives and among friends to work through issues.

Is it a crime to break our immigration laws? If so, then we better throw a whole bunch of Democrats and Republican congressman in jail as accessories to the crime.

If we are going to be rude, then, Dump a**, the question at hand is what to do about the problem now that the crime has been committed. You seem to be void of any thought on that question and instead choose to throw a petulent flailing of your arms in the air, "they should not have done it, they should not have done it!"

So genius, what is your solution? Your snide remarks so far show you incapable of coming up with one. Yep, the glass of milk spilled. We can all see that.

You know, it is even worse than that. Here is a problem that has grown for 25 years because nobody dared talk about it for fear of getting beat up. It is a problem you obviously feel very strongly about and want corrected (so do I).

So what is your solution? To beat up a politician that dare talk about the problem at great political risk. Amazing.

What you should be saying is this. Newt, I commend you for having the courage to talk about this very difficult subject. I will support you in that. We may have a difference of opinion on how to solve the problem. Let’s work on that and a solution. But, yes, Newt, you are right on the mark, this is a problem that can’t be ignored any longer.

Instead you get on here and start calling people Dump a** like some third grader in a school yard playground debate. There may be an elementary playground web forum somewhere where you will feel more at home. FR is not the place for your snide drivel.

Some of my competitors strike me as being of questionable legality. I've met a few who could barely speak English, yet they're taking business away from me every day.

That is a big problem that many legit business owners face. Not right and it needs to be corrected.

I am so happy to hear from someone else what I have been saying on here for a long time. People here illegally are business owners doing very well themselves. It is a total myth that they are all maids and only work in the fields. When I hear Republican's talke about guest worker programs they really distort the issue. Those Republicans candidates need to be more specific. Do they mean guest worker programs where the guy ends up living in a $500K house?

I didn’t say deport them all.

Cut off the benefits. They will leave on their own.

Im not trashing you dirt I just dont think politically we arr gonna mass deport everyone

I dont see much difference tween newt palin cain or perry on this...bachmann though waffling a bit called for total deport alone by herself
Something between amnesty and total deport and it will be who can get the politics done to accomplish the most

They all call for enforcrmemt, borders, self deport etc

Perry signed in state tuition

Palin called for “humane” as has Newt...that is fair to attack him on I agree...i dont like that lecture either

But calling for round ups aint gonna happen and hoping all self deport is not likely though many might

Offering guest worker to older ones,.disallowing anchor as Newt suggests is a start...this will be a long political fight but none of the candidates ate aping what is wanted here

We get rid of half or three quarters we will be very luck wjoeber is elected
