The problem with this is it assumes Amnesty ISN’T Newt’s ultimate goal. But like all GOP elites who love the cheap labor, it IS their goal.

Of course it’s amnesty. Newt would allow them to be ‘legalized’, and once legalized all it would take would be one trip home to sign up and be ‘on the path’ to citizenship. Meanwhile, they’re all back here, with the majority of them still on some form of government dole, until their citizenship processes.

“It strengthens border security, helps employers fill low-skilled jobs, bars criminals from participation and does all of this by “empowering the private sector” without use of taxpayer dollars.”

You prefer another Government Bureaucratic solution to privatization? Why will it fail? Does it require US to participate? Or can we just carp at the government as if they were a separate entity? Kind of cryptic put down of a very complex matter.

What is the first step in Newt’s plan, shut down the border?

Sounds pretty provocative. What else is wrong?

Put finding fraud in private hands? No good? Government would be better?

What IS the answer? Hopefully, something that no one will be able to control, all governmental boondoggle, like the last one? Why try something different? Let’s stand on the sidelines and ridicule it instead.

Or, better yet, pretend we don't have an unbroken string of similar failed proposals, most of which "legitimized" millions of permanent welfare parasites, and utterly failed to seal the border, as a condition of passage.

Problem with Newt is he has flip flopped on so many issues, it is hard to figure out which Newt will show up in the White House. I got a list of flip-flops ready if you wish to see it again. I have posted Newt’s flip-flops several times.

On immigration Newt has flopped to the left, while Mitt has flopped to the right. These two guys are like the twin headed monster. You never know which mouth will speak up.

I prefer the soccer version of the "red card":

You get thrown out and don't get to come back for the next game either.

There have been too many amnesty plans where we have amnesty now traded for a promise border security later, which never quite seems to come. This time we need border security to shut down illegal border crossings to a minimum along with sever penalties for employers who knowingly or with willful ignorance hire illegals. Get it well under 100,000 per year for a few years, then we can discuss what to do with the illegals who haven't returned home on their own and whether we need yet another program (we already have a bunch) for bringing in temporary immigrant labor.

Inclinación por Gingrich bajaría (El Economista 25 Nov. 2011)

English Machine Translation: "Des Moines. After the head position preference in the presidential campaign Republican, Newt Gingrich is now facing a possible backlash from conservative activists, after proposing an immigration reform that he called "humane", but quickly denounced his opponents as an "amnesty.""

Do you actually trust Newt to keep his word about securing the borders and not buckle under to pressure from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, LaRaza, the media and his “Beltway buddies?”

If you do (and you're female), you might qualify as Mrs. Newt Gingrich IV.

If it allows ILLEGALs to stay legally it’s amnesty. No thanks.

1. The vast majority of the illegal immigration problem is due to people who came here less than the 25 years that Newt talked about.

2. NONE of these candidates if President would search these people out and deport them. Period.

So how is this going to work? Does an illegal who’s been here 24 yrs admit they’re one yr short, and get deported? If an illegal’s been here 18 yrs, how is it going to be proven they’re seven years short? What motivation does an illegal who’s been here 10 yrs have for either not making a case for the full 25, or else remaining ‘in the shadows’?

Is there some grand index, that tracks where each illegal is and how long they’ve been here? No; there isn’t. The idea that we will just somehow ‘know’ which ones are lying and which ones are laying low—i.e.: not changing their status quo at all—is silly. The plan is useless.

It is kinda like Michele Bachmann’s position from about a month ago..... that she conveniently forgot while attacking Newt:

I don’t consider deporting 12 million people to be all that daunting a task. I’m frankly surprised that many do. Once the hammer comes down, most will self-deport (”Self Repatriation” has a certain ring)

It can be done humanely; it can be done logistically. It would create jobs, and simultaneously free up jobs wrongfully taken.

US citizens used to do roofing, concrete, drywall, landscaping, etc. before the invasion.

Who says they would have to? We DO have plenty of candidates telling us they would like to enforce the law. Just because Newt is a quitter, and so are you, doesn’t mean the rest of us are. That’s really all you have to do to solve the problem. It’s a false thing to say “well, you have to deport ALL the illegals, your plan has to be perfect!” Well, no, it doesn’t, we just have to enforce the law, secure the borders, and move on with our lives. FYI, illegals will self-deport once we get serious.

Just like Mr. Heartless......

This is far worse...

The Economy is the #1 issue #2 illegal immigration....

If the Establishment candidate does not understand this concept, then see ya!

Like I said before they can give them welfare, house, educate, give them health care, feed them, issue them a driver's license but for some odd reason.... they can't deport them???

Tancredo: “The so-called Red Card Solution purports to create a new guest-worker program that solves all of our immigration problems...”

So Tancredo has chosen to lie rather than be content having a discussion on the issue.

Nobody EVER claimed it would “solve all of our immigration problems,” and Tancredo is a liar for purporting that anyone did.

Why is it that nobody seems to be able to contest Newt without resorting to lies, fabrications, and/or outright hypocrisy?

Newt ain’t half the man Tancredo is. And no one is lying about Newt’s record. You’re just in denial about it.

Gingrich is part of the problem (Amnesty to illegals) and NOT part of the solution.

Yes he could defeat Obama, like Cheney in a Debate, but there is no way he will win an election. Too many independents view him as controverial. He has been a Lobbyist for the last 10 years. If Gingrich, like Romney, becomes the nominee, then Obama will get another 4 years. If Obama gets another 4 years, no telling where we will be.

Cain is the Republicans only chance to get in the White House.

Now I have heard that if Romney gets the nomination that Palin and Trump will run 3rd party. That will without a doubt torpedo Romney and the Republican party.
