A simplified description of the pitfalls of an overbearing gov't and class warfare, as well as how capitalism can benefit society done in a way even an OWSie can understand.

Been an internet meme and chain email for about 3 years now, but still pretty valuable intuitive information.

Someone was paying close attention after WWII...

Small block, 327, Edelbrock 500, but otherwise stock. This winter I’m going to convert it to an electronic ignition to hopefully improve the gas mileage. It’s a blast to drive, it’ll pass just about anything but a gas station.

Lotta iron to haul with a stock SBC. An HEI out of a later model ( mid to late 70’s early 80’s) will make a big difference and be pretty simple to wire up. Headers can get you 10% or better, too.

A torque cam (1500-4500 rpm) will still idle smooth but pull you around nicely, depending on your gear ratio.

You can keep that babe going forever pretty cheap but you might want a bigger carb - 600- 650 Holley and a Performer manifold. Your mileage then will depend on your foot but you’ll have lots more bang with the same or better gas mileage.

You can do all that for 5-600$ if you shop.

Thanks for the tips. In fact the HEI was given to me by a freind who had it laying around in his garage. It came out of an 80 Malibu. I’ll replace the vacuum advance, and to be safe spend some $$$ and put a new module in it. My uncle had a 65 Impala conv with a 283, it was no Z-28, but moved pretty nicely.

As I see many young Americans proudly charging into a new
Socialist/Marxist/Communist society, I calculated that most that are under 35 have no idea what East/Central Europe was like under Communist rule.
They probably are never taught that the people were prisoners of the state.

My '61, a two-door hardtop, had the stock 2-bbl 283. Fairly pedestrian.

Well, not literally!

take the moustache off the snake oil salesman in that cartoon and there’s a striking resemblance to the current “occupant.”

Cars would fly.

Considering how some drive earth-bound vehicles and the dangers they pose... I'm actually fine with the fact we don't yet have mass-produced flying cars.

Imagine a college or university putting out a cartoon or video today expressing conservative themes and messages. The liberal establishment would be on them like flies on sh*t.

Today’s “John Q. Public” would be grabbing for his share of “ISM,” rather than prostrate himself to Big Government.

I’ve seen it before, but it is always fun to watch. Especially interesting are the remarks about those who would incite class and racial hatred around 8:35. I’m sure the author was referring to FDR who was a master at this, but it is very apropos for today as well.
