HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say a homeowner shot and killed one of three men he caught breaking into his car on Houston's south side early this morning.
It happened near Gulf Valley and Springtime. Police say that homeowner saw three suspects stealing from his car and repeatedly yelled for them to stop. He said the three men had his car doors and trunk open, and were rummaging through.
The suspects didn't comply, so the homeowner went to get his gun.
The homeowner told police the suspects began to run back to their vehicle, but says he saw one of them reach for a weapon, so he started shooting, striking the driver of the suspects' vehicle.

This homeowner is going to regret the decision to shoot the criminal. You know how hard it is going to be to get blood out of the tan velor seats in that Buick? It’s going to be murder.

the suspects began to run back to their vehicleReads like they had already left the victims car, so no clean up required.

Upon closer review, I see that the criminals vehicle was shot up in the kerfuffle. The homeowner is lucky to not only avoid damaging his car, but taking out one of these maggots. Good news is so rare these days.

Watched the news video, and read the article.
As usual Important details are missing.
What Caliber and what loading did the CITIZEN use to stop the crime?

Forget nationwide CCW, Congress needs to expand Texas's self-defense laws to the rest of the country.
It would relieve a lot of the overcrowding in prisons.

"The owner of the home looked outside, saw somebody in their car," Ofc. Richard Bolton with HPD Homicide said. "He walked outside, yelled at them [and] told them to stop." Hopefully he yelled in both English and Spanish, otherwise he may be in trouble.

Liberals wonder why crime's going down. Recently one came up with the idea that crime was down because of low inflation... really.
That we're fighting back might - just might - be a major part of the reason.

Illegals?”
Don’t you know we don’t have any illegals in Houston. Otherwise I’m sure the Chronicle would have included that information in the headline. /sarc

They want overcrowding so they can build more prisons. They award the contracts to their buddies and get kickbacks. Thats the way it works. Big money in prisons.
