University of Virginia political guru Dr. Larry J. Sabato tells Newsmax that President Barack Obama’s re-election machine has launched an anti-Mitt Romney campaign that won’t stop attacking the former Massachusetts governor until Election Day 2012.
“They are unloading on him early, and will never stop until Election Day,” Sabato tells Newsmax. “Now, if they can damage Romney early and get a weaker general election opponent like [former House Speaker] Newt Gingrich, they'll be delighted.”
His remarks came as the Romney campaign fired back Wednesday at allegations they had distorted Obama’s words for a campaign ad running in New Hampshire.
Romney's campaign said it will not pull a television ad criticized for being dishonest in its use of an out-of-context quote by Obama.
Gail Gitcho, communications director for the Romney, said the campaign stands by the ad, which shows Obama speaking during the 2008 presidential race.
In the clip, Obama said, "If we keep talking about the economy, we are going to lose." The ad appears to be an admission that his stewardship of the economy is failing.

I doubt he wants to face Romney. Who do you think he fears the most? I think it’s Romney and the reason is they are so much alike. The only difference between Romney and Barry Soetoro is that Barry is a Marxist. Other than that, Romney is just Obama lite and that’s probably what scares Prez Soetoro.

I am also well aware that you have started several threads as of late complaining about FR's treatment of Romney and you have not been banned and those threads have not been pulled.
Isn’t it absolutely delightful how the Liberal Main Stream media has maintained their high standards and not reported on any of Obozo;s discretion. They have not investigated, nor reported on nearly every item that has surfaced. It is absolute proof of the ‘One Party’ theory that the GOP elites have stood by and allowed their candidates to be destroyed, one by one. and have not retaliated on Obozo by way of ‘quid pro quo’.

I have also started several threads as of late complaining about FR’s treatment of Mormons. Seems they go hand-in-hand and I don’t like it much. In other words, a lot of the Romney bashing is tied to the Mormon bashing and since I am a Mormon, I don’t appreciate it much.
There are two possible reasons for the Dems anti-Romney initiative:
1. They would rather face Gingrich.
2. They are convinced that Romney will be the nominee.
Here is my view:
#1 is not true. They know he would trash Obama in their debates.
#2 is not true but the Dims haven’t figured that out yet.
Seems like some folks don't like Romney as a Mormon, but the vast majority of posters on FR don't like him because he is a flip-flopping RINO who can't be trusted as far as one could throw him.
But you like to pretend it's about his religion, instead of facing the facts about Romney's sordid history.

That is a personal attack and a threat to “spit on you” (me). If you don’t think that’s a personal attack, then there is nothing I can do about it. You hold the power to crush my rights or protect my rights on this site. I personally am offended especially since I have actually been spit on by a Gore supporter during the hanging chad era. You have decided that I should not be offended, that the insult was not directed at me. Since the insult was not directed at you, you need not be offended.

I’m Mormon too, and I can relate somewhat to your comments about the anti-Mormonism that often exists on Free Republic. I have learned to distinguish between comments that are critical of LDS doctrine (which don’t bother me) versus negative comments that generalize about Mormons themselves, such as an opinion that Mormons are dishonest, etc. It is this second type of comment that I actually find hurtful, because these stereotypes don’t usually seem accurate to me, and I tend to feel accused of something bad that I haven’t even done via guilt by association. Having said all this, I think you should take a closer look at post number 10. It is clear to me that the poster’s comments are not directed at you, but are directed at Obama himself.
Romney will try to run a gentlemanly campaign like McStain did. Better to nominate Newt who will taunt, ridicule and criticize Zero everyday until election day. It will be like a daily flogging for Barry. Newt Gingrich will make his life miserable. The public will eat it up just like they do when Trump trashes him.
