US, UN Condemn Attack on British Embassy in Tehran (they're scared now)

The United States and the U.N. Security Council have joined Britain in condemning Tuesday’s mob attack on the British embassy in Tehran. U.S. officials say the incident may mean that nuclear-related sanctions on Iran are beginning to have a serious impact.

The attack on the British diplomatic complex in Tehran, by what were described as hard-line students, evoked memories of the 1979 seizure and occupation of the U.S. embassy there.

It drew a sharp response from the White House, which condemned the action “in the strongest terms” and stressed Iran’s responsibility under international protocols to protect diplomatic missions and personnel.

President Obama, in a photo session with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, said he was disturbed by what he termed the “trashing” the British facility.

Unlike the 1979 attack, in which more than 50 Americans were held hostage for more than a year, all British personnel were reported safe late Tuesday though protestors entered offices, broke windows and tossed documents around the grounds.

I seriously doubt that sanctions will cure Iran.

The attack on the British Embassy is an Act of War....Obama, Pelosi, Bill Ayers, Van Jones and others have shown their support for protesters....who do you suppose whipped these "protesters" up to such a point? Obama says "he was disturbed by what he termed the “trashing” the British facility"? Trashing Mr. Obama, trashing?.....still voting present and running from any confrontation that might upset his campaign for a second term.

Oh my, I fear such a rash response could drive our Iran-U.S. relations to a new low.

Back then our response should have been, and the British response should be “you have 24 hours to release our citizens unharmed or we will begin a bombing campaign and once it starts, we will not stop until until you are all dead.”

Highly unlikely Hussein will do anything more severe than give his bros a talking “in the strongest terms.”

I fear that Obama is reacting too harshly. Condemning Iran “in the strongest terms” should be reserved for serious infractions and acts of war. I mean what other tools does Obama have reserved in his arsenal of punishment? If he has to toss his hankie at Imadinnerjacket’s ugly mug, there’ll be chaos. NATO may have to get involved. It could be WW3. Obama needs to calm down and stop goin’ all Cowgirl before he gets his panties all twisted up.
