Perfectly stated!

I’ll dust off my prediction from ~1 year ago: I think there’s a significant chance that the eventual GOP POTUS nominee will be one that is drafted at the GOP Convention.

I have heard this a lot lately. Is this a back door of hope to those who support Palin? If there is a brokered convention, I seriously doubt Palin would be the nominee.

I was on the Cain train for awhile, but now I am undecided, leaning Perry after the Arpaio endorsement.

The only way that can happen is if no candidate goes into the convention with a majority. Delegates are obligated to vote with thier state obligations on the first ballot, and if a candidate won more than 50%, its over. As cash poor as these campaigns are, I dont see more than 2 still running by the end of January, and I dont see Mittens getting more than 30% of the delegates no matter how you slice it. In short, no way it is going to be a brokered convention.

No chance. The GOP is as well controlled from the top down as the 'rat party is. Unless the committed delegate count is decisive going in, they will have decided their candidate in advance. Conventions no longer make decisions in American politics. That was then. This is now.

That would be nice.

Gee it hasn’t happened in a long time. I think the convo went into without the nominee being a certainty was 1968 rats. And even then HHH was pretty much a lock.

It was more fun back when the rats required a 2/3 majority.
