I’m a college guy myself. Kentucky Wildcat fan for many years. Ho-hum at best @ the pro game. I DID like it when Dirk won it last year :)

But take Brandon Knight (on the list...sigh)...he’s what? 20? He IS a good kid. Good grades. Has respect. I’d like to talk to him a bit hahaha...

So, part of it is...yep, they’re young. Still impressionable.

I’d love to be a fly on that locker room wall...when they all snicker about the gay-vibe from the coke-snorter-in-chief though...

So who is dumb enough to watch NBA thugs?

Am I a total jerk for wishing for at least one career-ending injury to take place at this event?

I'm going to hijack my own thread.

Based on ability, who would you take as your PG? John Wall or Brandon Knight?

Why the hell would that be something to be proud of? That’s as pathetic as what Mz Chewie is proud of

The NBA ("Ghetto Ball") is rapidly declining. The recent contract negotiations revealed just how far. So, you have twenty-five college educated (most just two years before leaving for the riches of the NBA) pampered athletes, , who can't put an intelligible sentence together, campaigning for Obama.

Of course "The One" never suggests that THESE millionaires should pay their fair share (just like the Hollywood stars who are given a pass -- no pun).

I won't be voting for Obama!

I won't be watching a single NBA game!

I'm thinking ice honky, er, hockey is the sport I will follow through the winter and into the spring, since I can far better identify with the players, eh.

Why the hell would that be something to be proud of?

Not caring about overpaid, overgrown thugs playing childrens games now equals a First Lady not being proud of her country until her black husband got the nomination?

Wow.

I sorry I can't recite from memory the jock sizes of the 1968 Celtics starting line-up.

Perhaps you're proud of such sports acumen.

Re your post #7 in which you list the players. I recognize Patrick Ewing but none of the others.

Then again, I quit watching NBA games a long time ago. Too many thugs among their personnel.

I’d pick Wall.
He’s another good kid too, was always kind to, and respectful of the ‘lesser mortals’ at school. Never displayed the pampered, prima donna attitude, was just a ‘regular guy’ with folks (all this from just talking with the people who hung out with him...anecdotal)

Again, if someone has the skillz to put paying butts in the seats, who am I to argue?

I WOULD argue that the main culprit in the development and promotion of thug cult-cha is ESPN (and their ilk).
Advertising works, right?

So you see the highlights, yes? That’s the main driver - “I wanna be on the top ten plays, etc.”

I ABSOLUTELY ABHOR ESPN. Look what they did with the Syracuse tapes! They are COMPLICIT in man-on-boy homosexual abuse. Pederasty.
(boy, we’re doing a pretty good job of jerking this thread...sorry, FRiend!) /rant off.

I like the college game better, as well.

When the top NBA players start signing with the same handful of teams, you essentially have a series of media-driven, star-studded pick-up games.

You can predict which NBA teams will make the playoffs with greater accuracy than the other three major sports leagues.

I am a financial advisor.

If my company, or my broker dealer did this, it would be a violation of the law, and regulatory issues.

In fact, I’m “required” to quarterly, file a report stating whether I supported any political candidate, and for how much. I must file that report whether I did, or did not do anything.

I have expressed concerns to my broker dealer, that this seems to be a violation of the constitution. But, nobody seems to care...

In the finance biz, the little people, which I am, get stuck with all the rules, because of the flagrant abuses of the firms, and their big shots. Meanwhile, in those flagrant abuse cases, nobody goes to jail, and a slap on the wrist is also quite unusual...

...it makes Miami’s defeat that much sweeter
