Typical. Recall the Watchdog.

And in the meantime, it looks like the whole thing will have to be taken to court again. Fortunately, that conservative judge was re-elected, and hopefully the Court will decide this according to elementary principles of law and justice.

In that case, the GOP should contest every signature.

Give ‘em a taste of their own Alinsky.

To NOT identify dupes, illegible signatures, wrong addresses, non-registered voters, and the like is, if it is allowed, a serious breakdown in or collapse of the democratic process. To allow it because of the target of the petition is sheer treachery.

Even here in Marxachusetts, the petition verification process is decently distributed to local levels, and I believe pretty fair: The petition sheet is for one town at a time, and goes to the town clerk for certification - where all the above is checked. Then, the petitioner gathers all the town’s certified papers, packs them together, and submits to the AG or state elections office. A good bunch of efficient and legal and above-board signature gatherers expect under normal circumstances to lose about 15%, just because you cannot control all the people signing your petition. And in this case in WI, it clearly invites the signature gatherers to be non-efficient, illegal, below-board signature gatherers.

Walker needs to ask for an extension of the ten days he gets to challenge each and every petition ....if not granted he needs to get a court order to do so....

He can win this with a good offense and some money to get every petition checked for legality

Use the same in your face tactics the union goons use

If this is different than how they handled previous voter initiatives, there is no way it will stand.

Meanwhile, here in Kenton County Ky the Tea Party along with the Northern Ky Home Builders Assn. gathered 25,000 signatures on a petition to put the disolution of a multi-county, tax sucking, fee sucking, growth suffocating, “Northern Ky Area Planning Commission” on last Nov’s ballot.
The “republican establishment here threw out all 25,000 over 3 spurious signatures and it never made the ballot.
Less than 25,000 Kenton Co voters even bothered to vote in the Nov gubernatorial election.
Gosh, I wonder why.

The GOP better have Walker’s back, or I am done with them for good.

>> “[C]hecking addresses, verifying ages, etc., is by law the responsibility of the incumbent,” Magney said. “If the incumbent files a challenge that says John Smith does not live at 123 Main Street, Onalaska, then the GAB must determine whether the challenge is correct and the name should be struck.” <<

Contest them ALL! That’s what the Rats would do!
