SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Tis the season for finding cross-border drug tunnels.
The latest secret passage - equipped with a hydraulic lift, electric rail cars, wooden staircase and end-to-end wood floors - was discovered Tuesday on the U.S.-Mexico border, highlighting an emerging seasonal trend. For three years, authorities have found the most sophisticated tunnels shortly before the winter holidays in what officials speculate is an attempt by drug smugglers to take advantage of Mexico's fall marijuana harvest.
The discovery of the 600-yard tunnel resulted in seizures of 32 tons of marijuana, one of the largest pot busts in U.S. history, said Derek Benner, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's special agent in charge of investigations in San Diego. It linked warehouses in San Diego and Tijuana and was equipped with lighting and ventilation.

That will turn into 30 tons before it gets booked into evidence, and 2 tons before the feds burn it while standing downwind.
There is a way to stop this drug crap. Execute the dealers. If you are caught with illegal drugs with a quantity sufficient for intent to distribute, then you die. You are arrested, tried, and if convicted, you will be executed within 90 days. No appeals whatsoever.
Why does the alleged “war on drugs” drag on from year to year. It has been going on since the sixties. Because there are to many people making big bucks out of it and they aren’t all drug dealers. Lawyers, law enforcement personnel, prosecutors, judges, rehab people, etc. The list is almost endless.
You deal-you die would put a halt to almost all of it. It not, then we the people would not have to house and feed quite so many criminals.
