He will have to demolish Zero in debates, and he can.

Recent polling has him ahead of Obama — I wonder what his numbers are like with independents, though.

It’s not the end of the primary; no one has voted yet. This might however be the end of many non-Romney candidates. We’ll have to see how it sorts out as the “also ran” candidates drop. Newt’s big strength as a candidate is being such a sleaze that another old scandal is not going to harm his reputation among conservatives, that and being genuinely knowledgeable on every issue. I’m not thrilled with him, but I’ll probably be able to vote for him if he is the nominee. I just hope we get the brilliant, conservative, tactically effective Newt, and not the other Newt whom we also know so well.

Once the public hears what Newt has to say, Obama will be roadkill.

Newt stands the best chance of all the candidates to win this thing. America could care less about his past.

Honestly, in some way this is a victory for us. Historically, the most liberal Republican candidate would usually get all the media love and run away with the nomination. This time, Gingrich is to the right of Romney, Romney is probably the most liberal big-name GOP candidate in history, and he is having serious struggles. While Gingrich is far from perfect, this is a trend in the right direction.

They`d all have to struggle mightily. Beating Obillion$ will be a gargantuan task. At least Newt can take him down in debates. That`s a whole lot more than the awed, feckless McCain could accomplish in 2008.

Everyone will struggle to win a primary against a sitting president with the media in his corner and with a billions bucks to spend.

There is no other candidate without flaws, yet there is no other candidate with Gingrich’s communication skills and experience with the media.

Also, he’s no dummy.

As we would with ANY candidate! The MSM won't have it any other way. Newt is by far the best candidate to beat BOTH Obama and the MSM.

NO HE WON'T. Why does everyone fall for the MSM & establishment RINOs that Mitt has a better chance in the election?

Romney can't win the general. You need a fired up base to win. (Why McCain lost). Far more conservatives will stay home or not work to elect Willard than democrats who will vote for him.

Willard Romney = Juan McCain. The results would be the same. Maybe worse since Romney would probably have Huntsman as veep not Palin.

Newt was awsome on Hannity last night in talking about how he would run the general campaign. He will talk about Obama being a south Chicago, Saul Alinsky community organizer. He is looking into the classes Obama taught, did he use Alinsky as a text? Bill Ayers will be on the table, and all Obama’s other Marxist connections and appointees. Asked what his “Are you better off than four years ago” question would be Newt will ask “can you stand four more years of this?”.

As for calling for 7 three hour debates with no moderator, he said he will spot Obama a teleprompter “just to make it fair”. He said he doesn't expect Obama to agree, at least at first, so he will schedule a speech everywhere Obama goes 4 hours later. Asked about how he could fight Obama spending a billion dollars to smear him, his answer was it depends on your opinion of the American people, ultimately a billion dollars worth of lies is still a billion dollars of lies.

If Newt's the nominee this is going to be a no holds barred, bare knuckle campaign.

So would each and every one of them.

Anyone running will. Obama will not go quietly. I still see his reelection as more likely than not no matter the GOP nominee.

Anyone who is the GOP nominee will have to "struggle mightily" in the General Election. Obozo will have a $ Billion warchest and the Chicago Thug Machine behind him; not to mention the media, Unions, Hollywood, 95% of the Blacks, Gays, Environmentalist wackos and Americans with the IQ of a can of Spam. It will be a close election. That's why I'm so pissed that Huntsman has "not ruled out" a Third Party run.
