SIOUX CITY, IOWA — At the lectern in a packed convention center last month, Rick Santorum spoke haltingly, not for the first or the last time, about his seriously ill youngest daughter, Isabella , who has the genetic disorder Trisomy 18. Half of all children with the chromosomal anomaly, more common in girls, are stillborn. And of those who do survive, only one in 10 makes it to her first birthday.

Liberals will exploit it.

Years ago when my congressman was running for a state senate seat, his infant granddaughter died. The left immediately started accusing him of caring more about the senate seat than taking care of his family.

Seems that I read that the left did the same thing to Calvin Coolidge.

It is sad. When he talked about her at the Family Forum, it was incredibly moving. This was a good article by the Washington Post. Of course the libs are criticizing him in the comments section, but that’s par for the course.

The very wording of the title to this story proves the media is already exploiting the poor girls condition to diminish her dad. That is despicable.

I feel bad for Santorum and his family. I’d certainly vote for him over RINOs Romney, Newt, and Perry, even though he really screwed up by endorsing Specter over Toomey, which cost him his Senate seat.

Go home Rick. You're wasting your time on the stump, and your daughter needs you.

What a great example of how to be a family man: out campaigning on a forlorn ego trip when his young daughter may be dying.

No one doubts the back bone of the three conservatives, Santorum is a good man, as is Cain and Bachmann is a strong, Margaret type lady.

I didn’t look but can easily imagine. I remember how nasty they were with my congressman.

Comments at the site are typical classless liberals with nothing but sick vendettas/agendas on their little pea brains.
Revolting excuses for human beings.

I am starting to feel as if We do really exist in the Twilight Zone!

We have a Barack created caliphate going on in the mideast, our military is being withdrawn from the most strategically important area of the world and he is telling major fundraisers in NY that he has had Israel’s back all along and they have full faith in him!!!!!!

SOMEBODY WAKE ME UP!!

This is a really BAD nightmare!

You're kidding right? Using that logic, Sarah Palin might as well went home because of Trig instead of taking the straight fight to Obama in 2009 and 2010.

Last winter I had to go to the funeral of my cousin’s 18 month old daughter. Roughest funeral I’ve ever been to.

How dare you judge him. His child has been “dying” since the day she was born. I do not support Santorum for President, but there is no denying he is a man who loves his family. I met he and his wife in Kansas City, and heard the heartbreaking story about the daughter.

Darling little girl and you can see the love of all in the family. God bless them. I dont’ know how the elections will come out nor how this little girl’s life will come out. I DO know that God will continue to guide the Santorum family and hopefully God will spare all of us here on earth giving us a strong, leader who believes in God, country, family and freedom to worship as one desires and maybe He will guide our country back to its greatness. THAT is my prayer.

My heart pours forth with prayers for them all.
God Bless the Santorums all.
