WASHINGTON – A congressional panel has subpoenaed former Sen. Jon Corzine to testify next week about his role leading MF Global, a brokerage firm that collapsed this fall after a disastrous bet on European debt.
The House Agriculture Committee voted Friday to issue the subpoena. Committee Chairman Rep. Frank Lucas, R-Okla., said his testimony is "essential to fulfill our objectives." Lucas said the subpoena was necessary because Corzine hadn't answered an informal request to testify at the Dec. 8 hearing.

That’s gonna be pop corn time.
Has anyone actually seen Corzine lately?
...one of Dumbo’s selections to replace little Timmy when he got his pockets full.
I’ll bet you he pleads the 5th on the “advice of counsel.”
under a big rock with the best amenities no doubt
...and my former Governor. A complete disaster.
Subpoena to testify? He should be in jail or out on ridiculously high bail awaiting the trial of the century. That he is not and getting “invited” to testify is criminal in and of itself. He needs to go away for a long long time.
I am interested to know which RATS voted not to bring him forward.
For those RATS I would start running campaign ads against them.
WOW! Ya mean the don’t need a “supercommittee”? We’re really getting a bang for the buck we pay our representatives now! /sarcasm
Perhaps OWS can regroup and OCCUPY Corzine’s house AND CONgress.
You know that will never happen. The Dem crooks cover for each other, hang everyone else out to dry. Wish they would though...
Probably. A big to-do in the beginning, followed by a downplay by the news outfits, followed by silence. Then everybody forgets about it.
It'll go the way of Able Danger and the Fort Hood investigations...nowhere. And corzine goes away living a life of luxury.
Corruption coupled with Communist leanings go a long way with this Justice Dept. and this administration.
Ill bet you he pleads the 5th on the advice of counsel.
That or “No controlling authority.” Maybe will be extended executive privilege.
somehow, this will bring out the Race Card contingent, somehow.....
Exactly what I was wondering. Where is he? Doesn’t he have reporters camped out on his (very expensive) doorstep?
Restore Glass Steagall and watch them melt!
All involved on the committee will need shovels ,gas masks & chest waders. don’t expect anything worth a damn to come out of the investigation because the Democrats will fight like hell to block any attempt to put one of their own money guys in prison for being a thief & the Republicans are spineless .
