Herman Cain to meet with wife as Ginger White apologizes
LA Times ^ | 12/02/2011 | James Oliphant

Posted on 12/02/2011 8:52:20 AM PST by Responsibility2nd

Herman Cain has a critical summit meeting Friday with a house leader. His house.

Cain is decamping back to Georgia for a sit-down with wife Gloria over the subject of Ginger White, the Atlanta woman who claims she was Cain’s mistress for over a decade, and he said the two will discuss the future of his struggling presidential campaign.

Cain is slated to open his national campaign headquarters in Atlanta on Saturday and, at least as of now, is expected to go through with it. But the lease had better be month-to-month.

White, appearing on MSNBC Thursday night, apologized to Gloria Cain and Cain’s children. (Watch video below.)

"I am not a cold-hearted person. I am a mother of two kids. And of course my heart bleeds for this woman because I am a woman and being in a situation like this cannot be fun," she said. "And I am deeply, deeply sorry if I have caused any hurt to her and to his kids, to his family. That was not my intention. I never wanted to hurt anyone and I'm deeply sorry. I am very sorry.”

Wow, they talked 10 whole times? And how many of those 200 messages were FROM Herman?

"Don't worry honey - I was only TEXTING that other woman in the middle of the night! - and by the way, SHE did a lot of them!"

Ever have an original thought?

I have no idea who you are or where you stand on this issue, but your smug ad hominem putdown is offensive and unworthy of this forum. At least show that you are capable of engaging the argument instead of merely attacking your opponent.

If it’s true, then it says he’s a John. It says he’s just like at least 50% of the men out there. Believe me, fidelity is pretty darn uncommon.

I have had the opportunity to research and write concerning this subject (albeit some years ago). As surprising as it may seem, according to a number of surveys the percentage of men who remain faithful to their wives throughout their marriage is consistently in the 70-80% range. True, some of these same men get divorced and marry someone else, which others call serial adultery...

If the allegations are true, there should be details that could be collaborated. Does White have nothing - no souvenirs, notes, ticket stubs, photos, hotel bills etc., of her alleged trips with Cain? Surely she could request old credit card statements (I have done that). Could her sister publicly verify that she took care of White's children while she flew off to be with Cain?

She says there is none of that. None. How likely is that? She says the money was always in cash - so that could never be proven. Yet Cain admits to giving her money. If he had so much to hide, why would he admit to giving her money if there was no way she could prove it with canceled checks or anything else?

I agree with you: If there is proof that shows guilt by Cain, then the MSM and the Lynching Team will certainly bring it up if Cain were to get the nomination. They are terrified of Cain vs. Obama.

On the other hand, if there is proof that Cain is innocent, then I hope to God that Lin Wood will rain fire down upon that woman and anyone else involved in the matter.

The next couple days will be a hurdle. Then we'll see what happens next. If he stays in the race, expect his enemies to double-down on the Lynching. There will be no stopping until he is gone, for good.

I just watched the video, and it pains me to say I think she’s absolutely telling the truth.

I know the stats you’re referring to. So 20-30% ADMIT they have cheated. What percentage have cheated but don’t admit to it?

Ask any woman if she has had an abortion. Almost every single woman will say no.

Yet abortions are happening every day.

If 20-30% admit to being unfaithful, I would bet money it’s 50% who are actually unfaithful. My best friend’s DAD told me he had cheated on my friend’s mother. I asked my friend, “Do you think your Dad has ever cheated on your Mom?” He emphatically said “No way.” But I knew different, from the Dad’s own mouth. (Of course there was no way I was going to hurt my friend by telling him about his Dad’s affair. I learned long ago — confessions only make the sinner feel better. Confessions hurt the one who is hearing the confession. If you cheat, you damn well better keep it to yourself, and live with your own guilt, rather than putting it on your spouse out of some twisted need to “tell the truth.”)

Yes! it is very sad for all concerned, Mr. Cain, Mrs. Cain, their children, Ms White and all of us who had such high hopes for Herman Cain.

The sex doesn’t matter. And the lying about it to us can even be forgiven. Why? Because we don’t have choir boys (except mitt? But he has plenty of other baggage) running for the presidency this time, if ever.

You will get, as your President, possibly a man who has cheated on his wife. Most probably, without Cain in the race, you will get a President who needs a “body man” all the time, and whose previous affair has signed an affidavit and described every detail of his gay romps with the then state Senator, including the crack cocaine our President purchased to smoke while his date “smoked him.”.

So choose your candidate carefully.

Let's hope you're not right about the stats. BTW you could ask my children the same question and get the same answer: "No way!"

And thanks be to God it would be true.

Of course that also means the reality is that the media can still pick our candidate. We’re suckers. We always will be. We should have the chance to choose or not choose Cain (or anyone else for that matter) based on issues NOT media. This whole thing makes me sick. Not just for Cain and his family but for us. We’ll never learn. Can’t wait to see what happens to our eventual nominee. It’ll work then too. Anyone but 0bama? Hardly.

Ms White proves Serpent-head’s assertion about “dragging a hundred-dollar bill thru a trailer park...”

George Soros has plenty of $100’s and there are an abundance of sleezy RAT women eager to lie for a fistful of ‘em.

Why hasn’t the Atlanta paper come out with that story? Who is the friend? Should we simply accept Ginger’s word for it? If the friend went to the press where is she and why wouldn’t she talk now?

If her foster mother, ex husband and ex business partner say she’s a compulsive liar why are we supposed to believe her now without a shred of proof?

Since we now know the majority of the texts are from her and we know she had stalking charges against her (using text, email & phone calls) why are we to assume she’s telling the truth this time? If the texts exist why can’t we see them?

If she was sued for libel and her ex business partner won why are we to assume she’s suddenly being pure and honest now? If none of the people close to her have come forward to support her allegations (and her ex business partner who she saw daily says she never heard anything) why are we supposed to believe her?

Why are we only asking questions about Cain and not her? The press has done NO investigation into her background. Why have they done nothing to check out her story? Were her & Cain really at the boxing match? There were cameras everywhere. He flew her all over the place and they stayed at some pretty ritzy hotels according to her...what about records of at least HIS stay? How about little gifts & Cards? After 13-14 years there has to be something.

Why doesn’t someone ask why she originally said 13 years “on & off” and then after it was discovered the fight was 14 years ago it became 13-14 years “on & off”?

Why has there been no attempt to talk to people around her? An interview with the reporter who said they were going to go forward with the story? This could possibly be a reporter’s “big break” why isn’t this person all over the news shouting to the rooftops about his/her great journalistic discovery?

If all this were true, if she really weren’t a mean person why wouldn’t she simply tell the reporter “we’re just friends, he helped me out when I was struggling, that’s all there is to it, my friend doesn’t know what he/she is talking about”?

Even if she doesn’t give a rat’s butt about Cain and his family she also has 2 children...whether this is true or not they’ll forever be wallowing in her mess.

Why do we demand less of questionable accusers and the press than we should? If he’s telling the truth (and considering the lack of evidence on her part, I don’t see how one can believe her) where does he go to get his name and life back? How does his family recover?

This is the exact thing that was done to Sarah Palin and we still put the burden of proof on the person who has to prove he “stopped beating his wife”.

There are people who will always believe Trig is Todd & Bristol’s baby. There are always people who will think Herman Cain is a big, black womanizer (like Clarence Thomas). And most probably his real crime is being conservative while black. I wish we were better than this but I guess we’re not.

I like Cain and would vote for him but even if he could never be the nominee with or without these allegations, I’d really like the chance to choose our candidate based on factors important to running the country. They took Bachmann down really quickly...a couple faux pas saturated by press coverage and she’s done. Perry? Bad debate performances and half truths about some of his positions...the “dumb Texan meme”. Cain? It’s taken a little longer and a lot more work to bring him down.

We’re left with Newt & Romney. If you think the left and the press (but I repeat myself) aren’t preparing for either one of those in the general we’re fooling ourselves. This election is going to be vicious & ugly. They’re just warming up, testing the waters to see how deep they have to fill the pool before they drown our candidate. So far they must feel pretty good about it.

Good job. And it’s great that your kids know it without a doubt.

Hopefully your wife does too? So if she does know, without a doubt that you have been faithful, have you asked her this:

“If you found out today that I have been financially assisting a woman for a couple years, because she is without a job and she has two young kids, would you conclude I am sleeping with her?”

It might be an interesting thing to ask wives, coming from men who have been faithful, and coming from men who have not been faithful.

You could test my theory about adultery stats by asking the next 20 women you see on the street... random strangers...

“We are conducting an anonymous survey with two questions:
(1) Have you ever had an abortion?
(2) Have you ever cheated on someone you were in a monogamous relationship with?”

When you get 20 out of 20 who say they have not had an abortion, you’ll see what I mean. Abortion is not something to be proud of or admit... neither is cheating on a spouse, but cheating is commonplace enough that 20-30% of people admit to it. Surely there are a certain percentage who don’t admit it. Surely not everyone is willing to tell the world they have committed a sin like that. So some will admit it (probably the Liberals), and some won’t admit it. I’d like to see a statistic on cheaters that also includes political leaning... Conservative vs. Liberal.

FYI, abortion stats from one random website: http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/uslifetimeab.html

Summary: It is estimated here that, as of 2008, about 28% of U.S. women ages 15-64 have had abortions. This figure has risen from 2.8% in 1973 to 11% in 1980, 19% in 1987, 24% in 1994, and 27% in 2001. In 2008, of women ages 40-55, about 40% have had abortions in their lifetimes
