Marcus Luttrell, a highly decorated Navy Seal and author of “Lone Survivor,” is still hurting three years after the murder of his beloved Yellow Labrador, DASY, by a group of thugs in Texas.
Today, Luttrell has received some measure of closure, as two of the perpetrators who shot and killed his beloved companion have been sentenced to prison time.
Luttrell, a true American hero who was the lone survivor from his fire team after an insurgent attack in Afghanistan, took the stand Thursday in the “cruelty to non-livestock animals trial” of Alfonso Hernandez, one of the two accused in the case.
Hernandez was found guilty of a state felony by a Walker County jury.
Another suspect, Michael Edmonds, pleaded guilty to the same state charge two days prior and admitted he was the one who fired the shot that killed DASY.
The night of the killing in April of 2009, Luttrell said he “heard a single gunshot, grabbed his pistol and ran next door to his mother’s residence to check on her. He then made his way down to the roadway, crawled underneath a fence and saw DASY had been shot.”
“I saw my dog in a ditch and two men standing outside the car,” Luttrell said, with his new service dog by his side on the stand. “I could hear them laughing.”

These people are real scum. They should be locked up for the rest of their lives or decorating the nearest lampost.
It’s interesting that the report uses the legal term ‘murder’ in this case. Not that I don’t agree ...
I must say that I, too, was taken aback by the use of the word “murder” in the title. It’s not the proper word to use. They KILLED that dog in cold blood. I hope these two bastards rot in prison.
If these two get any prison time, they will probably view it as sn honor and prepare for the day when they get out and can kill again.

Too bad this guy wasn’t around my house when I had to explain to my 6yr old special ed daughter that her 2yr old constant companion was “gone” (poisoned by a similarly bred-a-hole).
Property is the teddy bear you accidentally left at the last rest area. It’s not a living, breathing thing...the buddy accompanying you to school every day, the buddy sleeping next to your bed, alerting mom & dad when you’re having a life-threatening seizure...
But, hey, it’s just property, RIGHT? Try explaining that to a hysterical little girl....

I am with you 100% I know if anyone harmed my dog, they might well find themselves dead on the spot, and that would include any cop who “felt theatened” and shot her.

In Texas, we are entitled to protect property with deadly force if necessary. So, you’d have to draw down before the cop actually killed the dog. It’s all in the timing...
LOL. There are a few here on this site who may suggest that I am exactly that.
But never on a dog thread.
You don't have to look any further than the filthy towel headed muslims to prove that point. Mark Levin told some horror stories recently about what they do to dogs over there. Absolutely sickening.
