Hey, anything that keeps him out of the general election works for me.

I mean, after all, we can exchange a right of center moderate conservative with a candidate who is probably slightly more conservative – but who pathologically does tons of too clever by half “out-of-the-box” thinking which often “transcends” conservatism. What a great trade. Who cares about electability and broad based appeal. We’ll go with the weirdo who looks like he just ate a baby – because he’s SCARY smart.

Principle is just as much about doing the right thing. It really casts a shadow over his judgement given the results of his ‘experiment’ in MA. Romneycare was a failure in MA before it even got started especially because of the federal component which keeps the true cost of the program from the backs of those in MA. Even with that the subsidized portion is exploding in cost just as expected. This just proves he really believes in big govt involvement in health care when it involves him a ‘Republican’ and that is not just a problem with Romney it is a problem with a good segment of the DC GOP establishment. They aren’t really opposed to Obama on the level of principle just on a matter of degree. They mostly don’t see a problem with govt playing bigger and more widespread roles in everything provided it is they who are defining the rules.

Good. Lose then.

However he can take a stand on ANYTHING and it would be taking a stand as he has taken a stand on all sides of EVERYTHING.

Good. The voters should have a realistic picture of a candidate’s most foundational political principles.

“At least he’s doing so this time.”

You bet! He lives in Massachusetts and is signed up for Romneycare, right?

One rule for one state out of 50 (or 57) & another rule for everybody else?

Is this like Congress (535 members)can legally do insider trading & all the rest of the population of the USA will get prosecuted????

His genuine support for RomneyCare, and his antipathy for the Second Amendment are why there is no situation in which I would vote for him.

Here’s another poll on the GOP race that just got started, so the numbers are very skewed right now. Everyone can forward it around to anyone planning on voting in the Republican GOP primary or caucus, in an attempt to get a larger and more representative voting base:
