BRIDGEWATER — During 40 years as a veterinarian, Dr. Neal Andelman has removed toys and other items from dogs’ stomachs. But until Thursday, he had never retrieved human body parts, as best the doctor could recall, said Lou Berman, a hospital administrator for the New England Animal Medical Center in West Bridgewater. Thursday afternoon, Andelman operated post mortem on a pit bull that had bitten a Bridgewater woman and swallowed parts of her face. The male pit bull was euthanized and operated upon following a request from the Boston hospital treating the 71-year-old woman, whose face was mauled by the 50-pound dog in the kitchen of her home.

The doc has managed the near impossible, he is operating on a good pit bull, a dead one.

Not just posted — BOMBARDED FR with Pit Bull stories. He must have been bitten by one when he was a child since his agenda was clearly to drive the breed off the face of the earth. Of course the threads always descended into all heck breaking loose when pb owners would come to the rescue of their breed. It was usually pretty funny (to me anyway), but I think one time Chet went way over the edge and — Chet no more.

All of his posts were not found by him...other freepers would notify him cause they didn’t want to get into it with pit lovers...I was sorry to see him go, but he got the zot and I don’t think it was from pit posts. It was I think from some Palin posts, but wouldn’t bet more than a quarter on it... I think Jim personally zotted him....its Jims house...

Many insurance companies won't underwrite homeowner policies if you own a pit bull...gee, I wonder why?
That’s what German Shepherds are for: all the intelligent guard dog, without the neighbor/owner mauling.

At least the only person the dog attacked was the owner. Glad she didn’t wind up dead.
What is a 71 year old woman doing with a 50 pound pit bull? As a man, if I was 71 years old, I would not have a pit bull. If I needed to have a dog around it’d be a lot more stable breed. Black lab, yellow lab.
well since we’ve made it impossible to wipe out irresponsible owners and gangbangers, I would say I could live with this breed line (their apparent weapons of choice) being ended.
