The “completely westernized imam” is Prince Karim, Aga Khan IV. Harvard ‘57. Before that, an alumnus of a Swiss boarding school. Mother was British. Father, half Italian. AK4’s primary residence, most of his career: Paris, just a stone’s throw from Notre Dame.
50+ year career as a philanthropist, very devoted to advancing education and development in areas grievously in need of those. If every imam were anything like him we’d have no trouble with islam, you may be certain. Unfortunately he is one of a kind.
