Andrew’s surrender (NY Democrat Governor violating no new taxes campaign promise)
NY Post ^ | December 06, 2011

A scant 11 months into his incumbency, Gov. Cuomo this weekend surrendered to New York’s culture of corrupt profligacy — abandoning the no-tax-hike pledge that was a core campaign principle and laying to rest the notion that he’s a Democrat of a different sort.

How high will taxes go now? Who knows?

Right now, “negotiations” are under way — apparently intended to get the tax-hike heavy lifting out of the way before the Legislature convenes in a month.

Time enough then to divvy up the spoils; just rest assured that every penny raised by the hikes will be spent in a flash — and then the clamor for more will commence.

Yesterday, Cuomo said that New York needs the hikes because it’s “the progressive capital of the nation.”

Well, of course it is. That’s why the demand for more taxes never ends: All that “progressivism” must be paid for.

A chip off the old block. His old man’s answer to everything was to raise taxes until he destroyed the NYS economy.I guess the son wants to take the mantle of NY state’s worst governor from his father.

the concept...that at a state or Federal level, the problems it has to deal with are derived from a LACK of Taxation or Regulation is ignorance, obtuseness or mental illness.

Most issue are derived from an excess of both, and/or a “deficit” in enforcement of existing regulation.

Let’s see here....

A democrat runs for office, promising not to raise taxes...

He wins, and proposes raising taxes....

What is not predictable here?

Who’da thunk it?

How shocking....a LIBERAL who got elected on a pledge of no new taxes, is raising taxes. jeez, I thought he would stick by his word. /s
