American Airlines: Alec Baldwin Was Epic Jerk (Twitter account "deactivated")
TMZ ^ | December 7, 2011

EXCERPT

AA says, "Since an extremely vocal customer has publicly identified himself as being removed from an American Airlines flight on Tuesday, Dec. 6, we have elected to provide the actual facts of the matter as well as the FAA regulations which American, and all airlines, must enforce. Cell phones and electronic devices are allowed to be used while the aircraft is at the gate and the door is open for boarding."

"When the door is closed for departure and the seat belt light is turned on, all cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off for taxi-out and take-off."

"This passenger declined to turn off his cell phone when asked to do so at the appropriate time. The passenger ultimately stood up (with the seat belt light still on for departure) and took his phone into the plane’s lavatory. He slammed the lavatory door so hard, the cockpit crew heard it and became alarmed, even with the cockpit door closed and locked."

"They immediately contacted the cabin crew to check on the situation. The passenger was extremely rude to the crew, calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language. Given the facts above, the passenger was removed from the flight and denied boarding."

I have always that heard that concerning the Hollywood types that all publicity is desired, whether it be good or bad. It keeps their name in the mix in hopes of reviving a sagging career.

I have more respect for Charlie Sheen than I do for Alec Baldwin.

Good for you, I have have never been able to differentiate being *nuts* from being *deranged*.

T'is a very fine line.

We have used AA exclusively forever and have never had any problems. If they want to advertise on Oprah I really don’t care one way or the other. IMO they are no worse and probably better than the other carriers from the horror stories I’ve heard about other airlines.

Choosing the airline over Baldwin is a no brainer and it has nothing to do with Okra.

What do you have against guitars?

I hereby move we start referring to Alec Baldwin as Fat Bastard 3. Here is the list in my mind so far:

Fat Bastard 1 - Michael Moore
Fat Bastard 2 - Rosie O’Donnell
Fat Bastard 3 - Alec Baldwin

Can I get a second...?

Maybe this will prompt CapitalOne to drop him as a spokesman. I liked the barbarians better.

With glasses he reminds me of a slightly thinner Michael Moore.

United is based in Chicago.

Makes perfect sense, since my Uncle lives in Arlington Heights and my cousin who works for United lives in Lincolnshire, IL. A great area if you ever visit. I recommend it to everyone. Beautiful areas.

I grew up in Dallas and have lived in New York and LA.

But Chicago is my favorite city to visit. It is so much fun. It has a big city feel, but with a Mid-western vibe to it. And the food is excellent, the jazz is great.

Wouldn’t want to live there, but I do like to visit.

“I just can’t get past the fact that they give Oprah millions of dollars a year. I am a United Guy. My uncle retired from United and we always have done business with them. Great company. You should really give them a look. “

I’ve given most of my air travel business to United. That said, your statement that “they are a great company” shows that you’ve never worked for them. My son did for a short period of time as a professional engineer in one of their major maintenance facilities. It was the most disfunctional place you can imagine. the IAM ran the place (they dropped tools day after day when they didn’t get their way).

Did they not actually own the place for a while? It was an employee owned company at some point, maybe still is

LOL greyhound.

BTW naps... I've tried United - they suck. Look's like Alec may be trying them out though. I like AA.

Baldwin is always a jerk. It just depends who is writing about him at the time that it becomes noticeable. Or not.

AA’s going to be around for the duration. They filed in order to bust the contracts they have with the unions. They were the only airline after 9/11 NOT to declare. The others already dealt with their per flight personnel costs.

I read somewhere that AA pays about $600 more per flight than their competitors on labor. It adds up.

They just placed a record order with Boeing last month. Massive order.
