Egad, just looking at those dreary pictures makes me drop on my knees to thank God that I am a Texan.
Are Dallas and Houston any better?
At least that the way it was until large numbers of Norwegians, as shown in the news photos, invaded the place and turned various neighborhoods into hell zones. The island is also a Mafia stronghold and I am depressed and disappointed that the Mob were unable to prevent these Viking barbarian invasions.

The civil society is breaking down. Our country is like a forest where the dead wood and underbrush has been allowed to build up to dangerous levels. All it will take to start a conflagration is one spark and just like in a fire in such a forest, not just the dead wood will be destroyed. That spark will be the election in 2012 if Obama is not re-elected. And by dead wood I’m not referring to a specific race but to the unproductive of all races.
And this neighborhood is not the worst part of the infamous ‘north shore’ of Staten Island .

I believe dennsiw was refering to the weather which is much better. As to the roving bands of feral humans, no not really.
They’ve been reporting a lot about young people coming back home after college, like it’s a “failure to launch” scenario. I look at it as, hard times mean more multiple generations under one roof families. I think it’s a good thing - good times means everybody wants their own crib etc.
If they hadn't used it, the cops would probably have gotten a serious beat-down. If I'm outnumbered 50 to 2 by a violent mob, I'm going to consider deadly force to be justified to protect my life.
My nephew told me last night about a friend of his who has quit his own apartment to return to the family farm. This young man has a good job and makes a decent living but decided that with everything happening in this nation, he feels more secure at his parents.
Particularly as he has an automatic rifle on a stand bolted to an upstairs room’s floor. He said it was to facilitate homestead’s defense when the SHTF!
This is Democrat-controlled New York. They probably figured they would go to jail for murder if they shot any of the mob.

I agree...our family has had several conversations about such things if things keep heating up. Might even have to begin getting them into play in the near future if things don’t turn around.
