PING!
My getting layed off last year wasn’t due to technology - it was due directly to something Obama did. He went for that swim in a part of Pensacola bay that wasn’t affected by the Gulf oil spill to send a message to the Coast Guard that crisis was over. Our contract was cancelled, and I was layed off after 26 years with my company and 38 years as a software developer and data analyst.
I actually assign little blame to him. The ignorant voters, a majority, had ample facts to see that Obama was a disaster well in advance, and they put him in office. Obama preached socialism, and they elected him. Obama had no experience, and they elected him. Obama was a radical tied to Ayers and Wright, and they elected him. We need some serious re-education in the basics in America.
Mr. Teleprompter is complaining about technology?
“Technology is TAKING our jobs. What jobs exactly has technology created? Im not talking about the rare computer geek, Im talking about for regular folks who worked as cashiers, for teenagers, for guys who drove forklifts?”
China has gone through absolute hell trying to rise above being a nation of coolies. And this ignorant piece of crap is literally trying to pursuade his audience trade places with them.
If that doesn't work, outlaw shovels and pass out spoons.
(One of the challenges in terms of rebuilding our economy is businesses have gotten so efficient, that, uh, when was the last time somebody went to a bank teller?)
Well yesterday and today as a matter of fact.
But then I pay an electric bill a gas bill a water bill a mortgage a car payment etc. All things that the President does not do.........
“.. the automobile cut down on horse pollution..”
But Obama is filling the void with Horse S***
NO, I lost my job because of the erosion of others jobs and the non profit income disappeared. Two years later, I am now on disability because i fell and fractured my spine. I am still unemployed, ill, and trying to recover so I can subject myself to more job searches and after entering 3k of applications with only two interviews, I want to cry.
Since I have a political science degree from American University, statements like this are familiar to me. It is Marxism 101. Every Marxist prof I had back in the day told me that the death spiral of capitalism was accompanied by advances in technology which would create a vast impoverished class without work.
Of course, those reporters covering him also know this - something else I know about, since I was in the print media for 20 years. We talked about it when discussing politics. It’s one of the reasons I’m here.
The guy is a communist, pure and simple. God help us.
Today’s liberals are regressives.
They pine for living in tents in the mud.
History will record that a true moron was passed off as brilliant by a deceitful media.
You could throw a dart into a phonebook and come up with somebody more competent that Obama.
Obama isn’t this stupid. His point isn’t that technology destroys jobs, at least not in the long term, but that it creates dislocations that can be hard on people, which is true. From this he then argues that the government needs to step in to help, either by redistributing wealth or creating make-work jobs or supporting the unions or whatever. And I would guess quite a few people would find this argument — which is his real argument and where his real disagreement with conservatives is — convincing. The writer is busy beating a strawman while Obama is out using a much subtler fallacy to win people over.
I blame job losses on the socialist, commie fiscal and regulatory policies of Obuggery.
I thought it was Bush’s fault?
Yeah, employment will skyrocket after he get rid of those furnaces, cars, trucks, and especially that damn electricity that runs those computers, motors, and lights!
And they called Bush “anti-science.”
