Since before becoming president, no one is adept in foreign policy.

Axelrod did the same thing to Obama’s opponenet when O was running gor the Senate. It worked then, and,to our utter destruction, the people believed him again! But he also was the father of the death threats? where there’s smoke..........

Yeah, but there’s a perception factor, as well. Reagan for instance, spent more than a decade before he was elected becoming an expert on the Soviet Union (and distinguishing his policies from Nixon’s and Carter’s, etc.), and speaking about it.

I don’t think Cain helped himself by making jokes about foreign policy issues, and deferring to others in debates. I like him a lot, and I’m not trying to trash him- I’m just saying what I think many people felt deep down.
