Sandusky Released on Bail After Sex Abuse Charges
ABC News/AP ^ | December 8, 2011 | GENARO C. ARMAS and MARK SCOLFORO

Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky emerged from an overnight jail stay Thursday after posting bail on new charges that he sexually abused two additional boys, including one who said Sandusky assaulted him in his basement while his cries for help went unheeded.

Sandusky was driven from a Pennsylvania county jail to his home in the back seat of a grey sedan in the middle of a three-car convoy. The former coach kept his gaze straight ahead, clutching a manila envelope, during the short car ride.

He then went inside without answering questions from reporters.

Sandusky was arrested Wednesday and charged with 12 new child sex abuse counts involving two new alleged victims. In all, he faces more than 50 charges. He has maintained his innocence.

Sandusky secured his release using $200,000 in real estate holdings and a $50,000 certified check provided by his wife, Dorothy, according to online court records. He will be subject to electronic monitoring under the terms of his release.

Why are they being so deferential toward him?

This guy is like the love child of Freddy Krueger and Hannibal Lecter for the under-15 crowd.

I'm glad I'm old enough to kick his doughy ass. God help any nine-year-old boys that cross his path.

The Pennsylvania court system makes sure Jerry can keep a-courtin'.

One has to wonder what the purpose of bail was at any level. It was obvious that Sandusky was going to be charged with crimes and just as obvious that he didn't try to run for the weeks when he didn't have to post any bail.

I’d like to see charges brought against his wife, too.

Doesn’t any of his close friends with some handguns care enough to put him in a room with one and suggest that he “do the right thing”

Way too easy. Way too painless. The only issue I have with the Framers is the “cruel and unusual” clause. I know why they wrote it, but damn there are some people that deserve it.

Ever see Casino? The Pesci baseball bat scene is appropriate for Sandusky.

Because Happy Vally frantically needs him to pull a Roman Polanski or get himself dead before he takes other people in the power structure down with him.

She had to know. All those kids, and only Jerry was allowed to go down to the basement to check on them and bring them food? Where were her motherly instincts? She knew...and looked the other way.

The whole thing is despicable. Jerry doesn’t think he did anything wrong. Yeah, Jerry, showering with kids is normal behavior. Riiight.

Wel at least this judge is actually making him post a bond unlike that female POS judge (Dutchcot) who was also on the board of his foundation giving him a pass on having to put up anything to secure his release from jail the first time! That part of Pennsylvania should be fumigated!

52 counts, 10 victims (and counting), and all it’s cost him & his wife is a lousy $250,000. That’s less than 5 grand per count. This is what passes for justice.

“She had to know.”

She is on tape admitting that she knew about the abuse of one boy who spoke to her after he was an adult. She said her husband had a “problem” and was “in denial”.

It’s bail. The trial hasn’t started yet.

IMHO, the bail has been set far too low. That’s what I was getting at with my comment.

I have not seen that before, so if you could point me in the direction of that tape, I'd appreciate it.
