Under the watchful eye of city police officers, about 40 Occupy Boston protesters remained in Dewey Square this morning -- with some promising to stay in the encampment ...
“There hasn’t been victory yet,” said 21-year-old Devon Pendelton. “We have a lot more to do.” He said he had made space for more protesters and a busful were en route.
Boston Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis visited the scene at 8 a.m. Some of the protesters applauded the muted police response to the encampment during the past 24 hours.
In contrast to other cities where police forcibly ended encampments, Boston police did not make any mass arrests after a midnight deadline passed early today, nor did they move to forcibly evict the Occupy Boston protesters.
Nonetheless, 10 police officers remained on scene. (snip)
This morning, about 40 people milled about in the vicinity of South Station, with some of them cleaning up the area. Still more were in their tents, sleeping. Some of the hallmarks of the encampment - the statue of Gandhi, the food tent, and the library -- have been removed.
Some protesters were cold, dirty, and wet, and what had been their home for weeks was strewn with trash, tarps, collapsed tents, and a mixture of mud and grass from the rundown Greenway the occupiers took over.
Not all the protesters were fans of police and the commissioner.
A woman who would identify herself only as Bianca from Gloucester said she believed police tricked protesters into leaving.
“I’m very sad. I feel like the police tricked us and made our own people end the movement. People were scared and fled. We’re rebuilding now, and I’m not sure what kind of action will take place. ... I hope we can hang in longer.’’

It’s been a very mild November and early December, so far. The OWS campers will be in a much more miserable situation when real winter weather comes along. Think Napoleon in Russia. The courts and police are doing them a favor by “oppressing” them out of the campsite.
If a group of pro-lifers joined the camp demanding a stop to abortion, that camp will be closed by force before the weekend.
Missing, so far, is a tragic death scene.

The Occupiers are trying to show good faith by pledging a fund to help restore the Rose Kennedy Greenway (not that it would be enough). There have been all kinds of costs including electricity provided by the city, police overtime, etc. Will these people still be around by New Years Eve when tourists come to Boston to celebrate First Night?

Yep, I work right down the block from the Minneapolis camp. Last month there were a couple of dozen regularly. Yesterday on the way home from work there were about 5 (temps in the 20's).
This morning it was 3 degrees and what do ya know? They are no where to be found, the "camp" was vacant for the first time.
Could one of our “crack investigative reporters” dig around and find out who is paying for OWS?
“...a busful were en route.” and the food...who is paying for the food?
Why is this information not sought and documented?
Saying who is footing the bill for all of this...disgusting anarchist crap...is one thing. Seeing it documented would allow me to shout it. Buncha paid-for phonies.
